3 year olds!

Carter & Chloe turned 3 a few weekends back.  Wow. It really is hard for me to believe they are 3. This birthday was the best one yet because they sort of understood that it was their bday and were more interested in present opening and all the attention they were getting. Although they sort of got over the presents after a while...we ended up opening up the 2nd half of their gifts about 3 days after their bday because they sort of got overloaded.  Lets face it these kids have more toys than they even know what to do with!
I told myself all along that I wasn't going to do a big party for them this year because we have so much other stuff going on but when it came down to it I just couldn't not do one. So a party we had. We had about 20 kids plus their parents at a little farm/park very near where we live. They had lots of animals there for the kids to pet and look at. Each child also got a turn riding on a pony. This I thought was going to be the highlight of the party but as it turned out it was VERY hard for our two little munchkins to get off the pony's when their turn was over. They got to go 1st because they were the bday boy/girl but I guess we didn't explain well enough that everyone else was going to get a turn as well because they both proceeded to throw gigantic tantrums for about 30 mins each at the exact same time when their turns were over. Lovely.   Both Jerame & I were sweating trying all the tricks in the book to distract them so they could continue to enjoy what was left of the party. All the while we were both asking ourselves, now why did we do this again? Oh the joys of being a parent of two 3 year olds. But after the tantrums were over all was well and they continued to have a blast.

We sang the kids happy bday in the morning and let them  choose  a treat to have with their breakfast, Carter chose watermelon

Chloe chose ice cream

31 weeks

Had a quick ultrasound this week to check in on the little guy. My Dr. wanted to check his growth again based on all the stuff that happened with me during the 2nd trimester. He is doing great in there and seems to be happy as a clam. His estimated weight was 4lbs 2oz which will potentially put him at 7 to 8lbs pounds at birth.  I am feeling really good and so thankful that I get to enjoy (as much as I can) this last bit of time with the twins before the baby comes. I will admit I am getting a little anxious or should I say a lot anxious about how I will handle it all. But I know we will and as challenging as I am sure times will be I know on the flip side that it will be equally wonderful. We are looking into getting someone to come into our home to help in the first few months which will be good. It's just a matter of finding the right person.

The twins are turning 3 this Sunday. Hard to believe my babies are so grown up. I am excited for their party and I think they are to (once I remind them it's happening...ha ha). We have come so very far since the first day they came into our lives what a true blessing they are to us.

Beach house fun

We had the opportunity last weekend to venture to the beach house
for one last time this summer and our great friends the Sperry's were able to join us. The weekend was full of beach time, camp fires w/smores,  three - 3 year olds  playing and frequently occasionally fighting over toys :), eating lots and just plain relaxing well as much relaxing as can be done with little kids around.

Syd & Chloe showing off their sand dollar collections

Both having boys....Karen is due 11/16 & me 10/17. It is fun to be able to go through this experience with her again. We were also due 1 month apart when I had the twins & she had Sydney.

visit with Papa Paul

Jerame took Chloe on a little trip to Spokane last  weekend to visit with his Dad, Papa Paul. They had a nice visit and I think Chloe fell in love with his horses. She was in horse heaven over there! Such a big girl these days. Carter & I had a relaxing weekend at home hanging out with one of  my best friends,  Erica,  that was visiting from Florida for the week.

paint the patio

To be honest sometimes I avoid letting the twins do things like painting because lets face although it is fun it is also really messy and who is left to clean up messes most of the time?? yours truly.  But the other day we painted and boy did they have fun. I need to let then do this kind of stuff more often I decided. The patio ended up being the most fun to paint though once I turned my back for a minute little stinkers!
