Birthday Ice Cream

Just wanted to post this picture that was taken just hours after they were born. Look at how little they were! They were such beautiful newborns. I know I am biased but they came out pretty perfect. I just still can't believe how fast this year has gone. Everyone has told us that the first year with twins is the hardest so from here on out things should be easy right?! Ha ha ha. There is nothing easy about having kiddos, let alone two at once! I do have to say though that things are getting so fun as the babies are growing up into toddlers. Jerame left to go out of town right after the party so I have been handling the twins by myself and it is so much easier this time with them than any of the other times he has had to travel. They have been so funny playing with all of their new toys from their bday. They are totally getting into playing with eachother too it's so cute.
Jerame had to work on their actual birthday so we had a little celebration for them right when they first woke up in the morning. I had gotten them balloons the night before and had them waiting for them downstairs. They really thought it was the coolest thing ever. It was cute because they obviously didn't understand that it was their 'Birthday' but they totally knew something was different about that particular morning. My Dad came over after their morning nap and we played with them & fed them lunch. Then we took them down the street to Theno's Dairy for their very first ice cream cone. We got them strawberry. Neither of them were really that into it. Carter just wanted to play with it and Chloe was more interested in the pile of bird crap that was on the table. YES, I did turn my head for one moment to find that when I looked back at Chloe she had stuffed the entire mound of bird s#%*in her mouth. SO GROSS! I totally do not know how people that are obsessed with germs survive having children!!!
Lets just say it was eventful. I think my Dad said as we were leaving "Maybe we will try this again on their 3rd BDay" lol.

Happy First Birthday to our beautiful babies

It's hard for me to believe that the twins are 1 today! At 9:34 am I went over to Chloe and gave her as many kisses as she would let me. At 9:35 am I went to Carter and did the same. I could not help but get emotional as the clock struck the exact time of their births one year later. The love I have for these two people is indescribable. I love them more than anything in the world. We have come so very far over the last year and I am so proud of all of us that we made it and we are all doing so good. This afternoon my Dad & I took them for their very first ice cream cone. It was priceless. I will write more later we are busy busy today. Thanks to everyone for all the birthday wishes, it means a lot to us!

Doing what we do best

Yeah! The twinnies are feeling better this morning. Now we are doing what we do best...playing in our kitchen/family room area :-) We spend a lot of time in here and they still seem to find new things to keep them busy. Today it's the wicker baskets who would have thought?!!

I love these little people.

Almost a year old!

The count down is seriously on! Only four more days and the twinnies will be one year olds. I find myself stopping periodically throughout the day the past few days remembering what I was doing, thinking and feeling this time last year. I am so happy that I started the blog when I did because it is so nice to look back on to help me remember things. I have to say that this week last year was one of the most exciting and terrifying weeks of my life! The anticipation I was feeling after having been through such a rough pregnancy was just crazy. Plus after being thrown the little curve ball during my 37th week was just the topping on the cake. The best part about the whole experience though was the end because we got to FINALLY meet the two perfect little people who had made my tummy home for 9 long months! To imagine that the two little pre- toddlers that make us laugh and smile all day long are the same little 5lb pound babies that came home from the hospital with us is just amazing. It really just blows my mind!  I can't wait to celebrate their birthday with them. I hope they are feeling better by then. They both came down with a horrible cold this weekend, so we have been struggling with that for the past few days. I don't think there is anything more heartbreaking than trying to comfort a sick baby . It's hard because they can't communicate with you to tell you what doesn't feel good. Tonight I have already cleaned up one round of projectile vomit. Poor little Carter.  Keep your fingers crossed for us that it was the last one of the night.

Carter is really really trying to walk. He wants to so bad and just laughs every time he makes the attempt. He took about 6-7 step in a row tonight across our family room so he is getting close to being a walker. His balance is not all there yet but he is close. My Mom & I took the babies to Nordstroms today to have their feet measured in Children's Shoes. We needed to get them in the right size walking shoes!

I know I said I would post pictures from our trip to Idaho but we actually didn't end up taking a lot of pictures with our camera. I will post  some when I get them from Jerame's cousin. We made our way to McCall, Idaho to spend time with Brad, along with the rest of the Bennett clan.  It was Brad's last trip as it's getting to hard for him to travel places. It was very hard to see him in his current physical state but also wonderful to spend time with him. He is such an amazing person and someone I have looked up  to since the first time I met him.  This was the twins 2nd plane ride (the first being when they were 3 months old).  They did pretty good. It was an hour and 1/2 ride and let me tell you we felt every minute of that flight. Chloe did not really want to be on that airplane! Then we drove from Boise to McCall  which was a 3 hour drive. Thank goodness for our portable car DVD player. The weather was not great but we made the best of it and still had a blast. The resort was right on a lake with sandy beaches and a pool. The babies actually were good travelers and we were able to keep them on a pretty good schedule.  I hope to go back there someday, it is a wonderful place to take kids.

She is turning into such a beautiful little girl.
She is defiantly entering the toddler stage though...tantrums and all.
It's a good thing she is such a little cutie :-)

Busy August

We have had a really busy month so far. I haven't had much time to blog lately so I am a little behind on posting. We survived the heat a few weeks ago only because we had AC! Thank goodness we put it in our house in May. I was thanking my husband every single minute of every day we had that super hot week. My best friend Erica came from Florida for a visit that week and we spent a good part of the week playing inside with the babies. It was just too hot to do anything outside and nice to be able to keep them on their schedule. Erica was such a help with the babies all week I felt like we had two mommies. It was so nice! We kept calling her the nanny because she was just so good with them and they loved her! It was so wonderful to spend a whole week with Erica. Erica has lived in Florida for 10 years now and it was the longest stretch of getting to be around each other since we were 18 years old! It totally felt like old times, except that now I have two babies. We just returned yesterday from a weeks vaca in McCall Idaho with Jerame's Uncle Brad & family. I will post more about the trip later along with some pictures. They will be one in less than 2 weeks!

Here are some pictures from Erica's stay with us...
