6 months old

Carter & Chloe turned 6 months old yesterday. They are getting so big. I will be taking them for there 6 month well-baby visit tomorrow so I will post all their latest stats after the appointment. Jerame left this morning for San Diego so it is just the 3 of us again. It's hard to believe these babies are 1/2 a year old already. They have been such an absolute joy and we are just so blessed to be their parents. The babies are doing great and are changing everyday! They are turning into little people and are defiantly not seeming so much like babies anymore. We are still struggling a with the sleep stuff but I know we will get it. I know that someday I WILL sleep again. Just don't know how soon it will be :-). Both babies did great last night though. They are really doing awesome going to bed now at 7:30pm. Which is great because it gives Jer & I some time together. It's just the waking up during the night that is still throwing us off. It's hard because more often than not, once we get one back to sleep the other one will wake up. Sometimes I think they are plotting against us. Ha! They are still eating during the night but I think we will ask the Dr. how to start weaning of that. It's all such a learning process! Sometimes I don't know who is supposed to be learning more us or them! I wish there was a manual that came with babies. I know I said this in my previous post but this is by far my favorite age so far. They are visibly learning new things everyday and are just so interactive. It has been so much fun. It's hard to believe in just 6 short months they will be turning one. It feels like a lifetime ago that I was pregnant, on bedrest & miserable! It's weird but it's actually hard to remember what it feels like to have that huge pregnant belly!
Both babies are turning into such little characters. Chloe is the serious one and just likes to observe everything that is going on around her. She is very selective with her smiles but once you get her going she is very smiley. Her laugh melts my heart it really is the sweetest thing I have ever heard in my life. Carter is just a little charmer and smiles at everything & everyone. He has been showing a little bit of stranger-danger lately though. I'm hoping it's just a phase. He is super ticklish too...that was really fun to figure out. The bottoms of his feet are the best because you are guaranteed a laugh every time. Both babies are really close to sitting up on their own I think by the end of the week they will be doing it no problem. They get really proud of themselves when they are doing it. I am sure it's interesting to see the world from a different angle! I don't think we have much more time until Mr. Carter starts crawling. I could be wrong but he already seems to be getting his legs up underneath him & scooting places. It's going to be craziness once they start crawling and then walking is going to just be nuts! My house is going to have to be one big baby gate. We are also pretty sure both babies are teething. They don't seem like they are in too much pain yet, they just chew on everything. Giving them solid foods has been so much fun so far. They have had sweet potato's & applesauce and have seemed to like both. I think tonight we will move onto peas! Jerame & I went out to dinner last night it was so nice to have a nice evening together. It was wonderful to eat dinner slowly with no interruption's! Here are some fun ones from last week....

My Dad's twin brother Mike was visiting Seattle from
Alaska. He got to meet the babies for the 1st time on
Friday!

Sitting up on the couch like a big boy

Pretty in pink of course

I love this picture

I took the babies out shopping & by the time
we got home they were both freaking out because
they were hungry so as soon as I got home I stuck
bottles in their mouths. Whatever works right?!! :-)
I thought they looked cute like this though.

They are really getting into playing together

I heart them!!!

Kisses

Daddy is home YEAH!

Photo shoot that didn't really work so well...Carter
kept trying to scoot off the couch.

Yummy sweet potatos

We had a wonderful relaxing weekend. Jerame got home from his trip on Friday afternoon, he had been in Europe last week. We surprised him and met him at the airport he was so excited to see us! Valentines day was nice & simple. This is Jerame & mines 7th Valentines together. We did a little shopping but mostly  just hung out together with the babies. The most exciting thing about Valentines day this year was the fact that the babies had their first taste of real food (other than rice cereal). We started with sweet potatos. Chloe loved it...Carter was not too sure what to think. We have now done them for 3 nights now and they just scarf them down now. It is so exciting that they are starting to eat people food now! It's just crazy...they seem to be growing up so fast. Both babies are sitting up with minor assistance :-) They are still pretty unstable but I think in the next couple of weeks they will be sitting on their own and playing with toys. I think this age is my favorite so far. They are getting to be so much fun and are actually starting to react to things & interact with us. Both babies still think Jerame is just the coolest thing ever, it's really pretty special. They are just the sweetest little things I love them so much.

We got a visit from cousin Skyler on Sunday.
Carter was trying to pull her hair (sorry Sky :-)

New Stroller

We got a new big kid stroller for the babies. I LOVE it. It's so much easier to maneuver than the snap-and-go. Although the other stroller is very convenient to use when we are out and about. I have been trying to take the babies on a walk everyday. I can actually push this stroller with one hand while I hold Bella's dog leash with the other. It's great!

Almost 1/2 a year old!

The babies are almost 6 months old. I just can't believe it! They are doing great and becoming more & more like little people everyday. Their personalities remain 100% different and it becomes more apparent all the time that they are unique individuals. It is so hard not to compare them because they are twins but they are just so different and it's impossible to expect them to be doing the same things at the same time. Chloe is all girl and remains our little challenge. She is a very strong willed baby and needs her sleep, food & cuddle time. Sound familiar to all you gals? I think some of her sassyness is genetic :-) She is so soft and sweet though. She is happy just to sit in our lap and soak it all in. She rolled over this morning for the first time Carter is a go'er he is always moving, even in his sleep he moves all over his crib. He has been rolling over for weeks now. I have a feeling once he starts crawling he is going to be hard to catch. He is pretty happy go lucky and is actually turning into a pretty good sleeper now that he can get himself onto his tummy. He is always smiling too which makes our hearts melt. He even smiles at strangers everywhere we go. We are doing far less cry-it-out sessions with the babies as I think they are getting the idea that bedtime means bedtime. We are still working on naps, they are far more challenging. It is still hard for me to get two babies to sleep in the same room at the same time by myself. I am doing the best I can though and I think I'm doing a pretty good job if I don't say so myself! Jerame's traveling has really picked up for the last few months. It's been hard having him gone so much & trying to handle it by myself. Thankfully I have had help from family & friends. It's tough on him to be gone too because he misses the babies. I can't even imagine being away from them 1 night let alone weeks on end. Life is pretty simple for me which is nice I love being a Mommy to our precious little angels.
Always smileing

Gettting some cuddles in before heading out to
the airport.
I put the babies on the floor to go & make bottle's
and the picture below is what I came back to 2 minutes
later...

Carter had somehow gotten her shoes off and was
trying to eat Chlo's feet. So funny.

Giving kisses

I LOVE my feet!

It's SO nice just to be able to put the babies
down on the floor with toys and they will play while
I take a shower or fold laundry. I know this stage doesn't
last for long though because soon they will be crawling and I
won't be able to leave them for a minute!
New toy...the jumper-a-roo!

Superbowl

We had some friends over for the Superbowl. It was fun although a lot of the focus was on all the cute babies instead of the game. Such is life these days! I feel like there is a small-baby boom going on around us right now with a lot of our friends having babies. All the kids are going to have so much fun growing up together.
