21 weeks

21 weeks...as I suspected this pregnancy seems to have slowed down a little bit. That or it might just be the fact that my body feels slower these days:-). Just a trip across my building at work to the bathroom seems like exercise....I'm really in for it! I am feeling pretty good, just getting a little uncomfortable and fully feeling prego now. My energy level has been better but I still get very tierd very fast. It's crazy how fast I seem to be getting bigger. I don't think I have much more room in my tummy so I think all they can do from here on out is grow out! Two babies need a lot of room :-)

20 Weeks

Our appointment with the specialist went well last Thursday. Both babies have grown a good percentage since the last visit 3 weeks ago. The girl is measuring bigger than the boy, which I was surprised by because she seems to have less room in there. All in all their growth is good, we still need them to keep growing though so I will continue on the protein diet. My appetite has really increased in the last week or so, so it's been easier to get the calories. They did extensive measuring on both babies again, they will do this at every ultrasound from here on out. The appointment took a long time, this one was 2 hours. The babies are about the size of a large banana from head to toe, the books always compare them to fruit. Pretty amazing when you think about the fact that they started out smaller than a poppy-seed. I explained to the Dr. that I have been having some pain in my right rib like someone punched me. And he said….well…let me show you why. He put the ultrasound machine right on my rib and you could see the little boys head knocking into my rib every time the Dr. pushed down. Ouch! Jerame felt the boy kick for the first time last week. We were laying in bed and Jerame was talking to my belly and all of the sudden the baby did 3 consecutive kicks. They were the hardest kicks I have felt yet, it just feels like little tapping to me but I have heard the kicks actually feel like kicks later as time goes on. It was amazing that Jerame's had was on that spot at just the right time, it was almost like the baby was responding…but who knows. Regardless, it was pretty special. Unfortunately, the pictures we got from this ultrasound were not very clear this time, so I have just posted one of the girls feet. I just think it's precious.

Crib Bedding

This is the fabric I picked for the crib bedding, it is so perfect. I am really excited about it. I will make sure to post pictures of the nursury once it's complete.

Sunny San Diego

We went to San Diego last weekend as part of an sales incentive trip for Jerame's work. It was all fun though & no work! It felt so good to get away for the weekend. We had an absolute blast. They were having record breaking temperatures all weekend, it felt like 100 degrees to us Seattleites but I think it was maybe close to 90 all weekend. I just LOVE San Diego, I think it is my all time favorite city in the entire US. We went to Sea World, had wonderful food & drinks, went to the beach and got spa treatments. Our hotel was very comfortable and it was right on the water. On Saturday night the group had a private dinner at my cousin, Lars's, restaurant. It was incredible food & a very special treat. He was the executive Chef for us and everyone just couldn't stop talking about the food throughout the whole dinner! I think it was possibly the best food I have ever had in my life, no joke!
I just seem to keep growing and growing everyday. I feel big but I know I haven't seen anything yet… I am going to get huge with two babies. I feel so much better than I did in the beginning, it is so nice. I actually feel like a real person again. I have been feeling them move more now, although I still don't feel like the movement is consistent. I can't wait for Jerame to be able to feel them move too….probably in the next couple weeks. We have another ultrasound and appointment with our specialist Dr. tomorrow, I am really hoping he tells me I can take the protein intake down a notch. The shakes are getting so old and I feel like they have really contributed to the fast weight gain in the last month. I am scared to keep gaining at this rate! Whatever is best for the babies though, I will continue to do. People have started talking about throwing showers for me, I am so excited and feel very blessed to have so much wonderful support around us. Everyone is excited for the babies to come! I will post a few pics from our trip a little later.

Bigger and Bigger

My tummy seems to be getting bigger and bigger by the day! I feel like it has almost doubled in size in the last 2-3 weeks. It has started getting a little uncomfortable to sleep, I love sleeping on my stomach and am now unable to sleep like that. I am up every couple hours during the night because I just can't seem to get comfortable. I am still managing to fit into some of my normal clothes but I think by the start of next week that will be next to impossible (especially my pants). I bought a couple pairs of maternity pants, which are kind of scary looking but let me tell you they are so comfortable! I found the fabric for the crib bedding, it is perfect! My colors are pink, green, yellow for the girls crib and blue, green & yellow for the boy. It is a very 'baby perfect' pattern, stripes & pok-a-dots... I just love it! I just can't wait until the nursury is complete. Lots to do before then!

18 Weeks

I had another routine Dr. apt today with my OB. I feel like I am at the Dr. every week…wait I have been lately. The apt went good, I have gained a pretty substantial amount of weight between this appointment and my last appointment with her one month ago. I am NOT telling numbers! Lets just say I have never seen the scale venture to those numbers before. It's good though, means the babies are growing. It was funny my Dr. came into the room and said she almost didn't recognize me with my newest addition (the tummy). We listened to the heartbeats, they are still normal and strong. Then we chatted for a bit and that was it! My favorite part about those appointments is actually getting Taco Time on my way back to work. Yes, I am really into beef soft tacos for some reason. I am going tomorrow to pick out the fabric for the nursery bedding, my wonderful Grandma has offered to sew it. I haven't been able to find any matching boy/girl nursery sets I like in the stores or online so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will find the fabric I am envisioning in my mind. I have a pretty clear picture of what I want, I just have to find it. I think the rest of the weekend will be fairly relaxing which I am looking forward to.
