Vegas

We snuck away for a few days the weekend before Christmas to celebrate our friends 30th bday in Vegas. My Mom & Jerry were awesome enough to take on the twinnies for a few days. We had a blast! We stayed at the Cosmopolitan, a brand new hotel on the strip. It was so amazing & beautiful. The grand opening was actually the day before we had arrived.

Dinner at Prime @ the Bellagio

Just the two of us :)
We love Vegas. Always have a blast together there. The problem is that we came home more exhausted than when we left...not necessarily the best vaccation to take when you have two, 2 year olds to come home to.

Because you are twins

Because you are twinnies, you get double the amount of toys on every single holiday that are age appropriate for you both. This is one of the many perks of having a twin sibling. Up until this point most of the toys you have been given have been for the most part gender neutral, with the exception of a few cars & babies. BUT we are getting to the point in your lives where some things start to be very 'boy' & 'girl' in the toy world. I imagine this must be just a little bit confusing for you at this point.

what we have been up to!

Time is just flying right by, hard to believe Christmas is right around the corner. We have tons of things planned for the rest of the month (including a trip to VEGAS!!!) and are trying to savor every minute of this special time with the twins. They are in awe of everything including lights & the Christmas tree. I think this will be the first year they will really understand presents.

Jerame took the week off, of Thanksgiving and it turned out great because we got snowed in the first few days and were unable to do anything but hang out, play, cook & have family time. It was so cozy. We had tons of grand plans for the week to get chores done around the house but ended up not doing any of it and just enjoying our time together. It was wonderful.

Twins making their 1st snowman

Jer & I snuck away for an afternoon sans kiddos to cheer on the Seahawks. They were terrible but we had fun.

I really didn't get many pictures of Thanksgiving, I was busy chasing after the twins at my Grandparents house, trying to make sure they didn't break anything. We had the pleasure this year of being guests at my Grandparents house with my Mom's side of the family. It was a delicious meal with lots to be thankful for.

Bella had to have one of her toe-nails removed last week. Its a long story but it was an ongoing problem that we had to deal with. The Vet compared the surgery to one that a person would have when a finger or toe is amputated. So it's been a slow recovery & lots of nursing care for her. So in addition to the twinnies, I have been busy with my 3rd baby the past week.

Carter is super into building his Lego farm house right now. He will do this for hours. He loves to have Jer help him, they are cute building it together.

Chloe & I had a cookie decorating party. She took it very seriously and ate them as we went.

GO COUGS!!!

Lastly we had a little last minute get together with a few of our friends for Apple Cup. There were 5 little girls & Carter.

tutu

Every little girl falls in love with a tutu at one time or another...it seems as though Chloe has found the one :)

We were on our way out the door and Chloe comes downstairs in this! Just your average Costco shopping attire.

Growing Up

Your little hands wrapped around my finger
and it's so quiet in the world tonight
Your little eyes flutter cause you're dreaming
so I tuck you in turn on your favorite night light.
To you, everything is funny you got nothing to regret
I'd give all I had honey if you could stay like that.

Oh, darling don't you ever grow up
Don't you ever grow up
Just stay this little
Oh, darling don't you ever grow up
Don't you ever grow up
It can stay this simple.

I won't let nobody hurt you, won't let no one break your heart
And no one will desert you
Just try to never grow up.
-Taylor Swift

This is my absolute new favorite song...a warning though, don't listen unless you want to cry. This song is to precious for words.

I wish I could freeze these beautiful little people in time, they are so amazing at this age.
I am so lucky to be their Mommy. What a blessing they are in our lives.

cake

Carter tried cake for the first time at a bday party we went to a few weekends back. He tried it, took a few bites and then was over it. What two year old does not like cake, candy, ice cream or cookies? But he will eat plates full of salad and any kind of fruit you put in front of him. I guess we should feel lucky for the time being because I know it wont last forever.

Best part about twins

out with the week & in with the weekend

This week has been one of those...one of those hard ones. Don't get me wrong in the big scheme of things, life is pretty great with us. But we have just had one of 'those' where the snot is pouring, sleep is lacking, days at work have been long & stressful and the weekend just can't seem to get here fast enough. I always joke that everyday is groundhog day for me because my job right now is kids but the weekends are always a welcomed break in the routine with our special big guy home with us. We are in a little (or should I say BIG) rough patch with sleep and transitions. Both kids are in beds now...one is adjusting better than the other. I realize the getting out of bed 100x's before actually going to sleep is now our reality but it doesn't make it any less exhausting. It's a new stage and we will get through it. So since I am feeling a little blah I will focus on some bright spots in our week:
- Chloe calling me honey when she wants something
-going upstairs to find the twins laying in bed together 'reading' a book
-The sun & warm temps we have had this week
-The fact that Chloe has a cold and we have not had to do any breathing treatments
-Seeing the smiles on their faces as we arrive at Great Play for their class
-And lastly that I get to stay at home with these two and enjoy all these priceless moments with them.

ok. Here's to a weekend filled with lots of rest and less stress at bedtime (fingers crossed).

This is a typical Saturday morning. Watching college football and holding all of Chloe's babies while she puts each one night-night. Such a good Daddy.

Happy Weekend!

pumpkin carving

We had so much fun carving our pumpkins this year. I am so excited for holidays! They had a blast scooping out all of the stuff inside the pumpkins. It was the first time Jer & I had done it together also if you can believe that.

cookies

The twins & I made cookies together. It was messy but so much fun. It was hard to get them not to eat the raw cookie dough. I personally love raw cookie dough but with all the egg recalls I am afraid to let them eat or touch any raw eggs. So that got a little interesting. When they came out of the oven Chloe had about 5 cookies. Carter took a little bite of one and said YUCK. He hates anything sweet. Odd ... I know. I am sure someday he will catch on to the candy & sweets thing.

Leaves

We have about a gazillion Maple trees in our yard & in surrounding yards. We get a lot of leaves and even that is an understatement. This time of year is beautiful with all the colors. I think Fall is one of my favorite times of year. The weather has been so nice and sunny this week that we have had the pleasure of doing lots of fun things outside. They had a really fun impromptu leave-playing session today it was priceless. These kids bring a smile to my face doing just about anything :)

solo trip to the zoo

I got brave for some crazy reason last week and took a solo trip to the zoo. We have done the zoo before but with the containment of the stroller. Since they won't ride in the stroller anymore for more than like 2 minutes at a time I figured we would give it a shot without it. Yes those cute little monkey backpacks double as leashes. I know there are differing thoughts on these but in my opinion they work, keep them safe and that's all that really matters. It was the best 20$ we have spent in a while.

Although we had fun, I think I got a little a head of myself when I decided to do this little outing. There is most certainly a reason 2 & under are free at the zoo. It was hard to keep them going in the same direction & interested in doing the same thing. We only saw the pigs, cow, chickens & goats and left after an hour. They thought it was great fun... I was sweating by the time I got them loaded back into the car. Next time we will bring someone else with us I think. One of the most interseting things at the zoo was the leaves...who would have thought?

We stopped for a quick snack, not to sure what they are both doing here but I think it's cute

Chasing Carter, I do LOTS of this

The big rock was super cool ;)

pumpkin time

We went to the little pumpkin patch by our house, Dr. Mazes Farm, on Saturday to pick out our pumpkins. The twins thought it was a blast. It was a beautiful fall day. We had a gorgeous weekend. It was amazing how much more they are capable of doing this year at the pumpkin patch vs. last year.

My Dad stopped by the farm with us for a little bit!

Jerame & Carter's pumpkin has the worlds largest stem

Last year at the pumpkin patch Oct. 09. Amazing. They look like little babies. They got so dirty because they were not that stable on their feet yet. I think Chlo looks the most different between the two pictures :)

30

I celebrated my 30th bday last week. When Jerame asked me what I wanted to do for my 30th bday I told him that my dream celebration would be to have a big party, one that all my friends could come to. And that is exactly what I got...a small wedding.....except no one got married :) I loved my party. Every single thing about it. We had the private dinning room at the Purple Cafe & Wine bar in Bellevue. There was wine, food, flowers, cake, candles, photo ops and lots & lots of people that I LOVE. Thank you to Jerame for welcoming me into my thirties in such a lovely way. To be honest I think my thirty's will be some of the best years yet.
Some pictures from the night...there were lots & I am in a lot of them :)
