'Twice as Nice' turns ONE!

My PEPS twin moms group had a Bday party celebration for all the babies & parents in the group last weekend. We rented a great space at the Mount Lake Terrace Rec center that had lots of toys for the kids. The last set of twins just turned one last week, so now everyone is ONE!!! It's so fun to see them all toddling around and playing together. It was fun to reflect back on the last year with all the other Mom's in the group and talk about all the things we have 'survived' having twins over the period of the last year! 16 babies in ALL...can you count them all?!!!!

Pumpkin Patch

We took the twins to the South 47 Farm just down the hill from our house on Saturday. We had a break in all the rain and actually had some sun while we were there. We were all overdressed it got really warm when the sun came out. With all the rain we have had though brought A LOT of mud at the pumpkin patch. They got SO dirty.

Kirk, Karen & their daughter Sydney met us for some fun! Sydney is two weeks younger than the twins.

Chlo chlo is back to her binkie ways today...again out of the blue. I swear she put these glasses on her face all by herself too. Funny little girl.

Bye Bye Binkie????

To anyone that knows Chloe very well knows that the binkie & Chloe pretty much have been one in the same for the past  year of her life. The first night we gave her a pacifier was day two in the hospital and she had to get some blood taken in the NICU because she had a little bit of a fever. Anyway, since that night she has been inseparable with that binkie. She has always wanted nothing to do with blankets or loveys she only wanted binkies to go to sleep. So we would routinely put between 3 to 6 binkies in her crib at night and she would hold them while she put herself to sleep. Well, to our great surprise last week out of the blue she decided that she now wants nothing to do with it. She will put it in her mouth and hold it there with her teeth but she does not suck on it. I think this is our window of opportunity to have them disappear all together?! Both Jerame & thought she would be a child that would have her binkie to sleep for years to come. It is a little funny that SHE is the one who has decided that she is done with it because we probably would have kept giving it to her for far too long. I will admit we have used that thing as a little bit of a crutch as often times it was our only way to get her to sit in the stroller, car seat etc w/out completely freaking out. I am not sure I AM ready for the bink to be gone?

more easy entertainment

I have been on a mission to try to organize all the clothes that they have grown out of. This is such a huge job that I been avoiding doing this for a long time now and all their clothes have just been piling up their closet. We are seriously thinking about splitting them up into their own rooms pretty soon here so I am in the process of starting to clean/organize the nursery. I bought some more bins yesterday and they have become quite the hit this morning. It is amazing what is entertaining to these cute little people. I love them.

We have been hit

Ever since all the swine flu stuff started happening I have gotten slightly neurotic about washing hands and germs. I know it is impossible to avoid all germs and that it is totally necessary that the babies eventually get sick to strengthen their immune systems it's just so hard when they are both  sick. Ugh. Despite my efforts, both babes seem like they are coming down with something. Carter had a really tough night the night before last and it was Chloe's turn last night. I was up with her today at 5 am. I am exhausted today. They are both super cranky and seem like they are feeling crappy. I hope it's just teething but I am not holding my breath.  So today I am dealing with babies that do not feel well. It's not very fun at all!  I am hoping to be able to get outside and do something in the fresh air a little later today, we'll see how they are doing after naps.
We had a really great weekend. Jerame & I had a date night  and went to a black tie charity event downtown. It was so fun to get dressed up and have a night out together.
Jerame's Mom & Sister watched the twins while we
went out!
All dressed up, so fun!
Goodmorning beautiful :-)
I LOVE when they first wake up in the morning they are so snuggly

30 here I come!!!

I celebrated my 29th Bday last Wednesday. My last 20 something birthday?!! I had such a wonderful day. Jerame out did himself once again and spoiled me. He gets the husband of the year award. He took the day off and went with the twins and I to our Wed morning baby class. It was fun to have him there to see what it's like and so nice to have an extra set of hands to manage C & C. After class I went and met up with some of my best girlfriends for a baby-free lunch! Jerame organized and treated us all to wine & lunch at the Barking Frog restaurant in Woodinville. It was so nice to catch up with everyone and even more special that Jen happened to be visiting from London & was able to come! After lunch Jerame arranged for me to get a massage at the Willows Spa which was so comfortable. When I arrived back home after my amazing afternoon there was champagne and appetizers waiting for me. Seriously?...he is so sweet! We hung out together as a family for a few hours and then it was off to dinner at 'Rovers' in Madison Park (http://www.rovers-seattle.com/). It was AMAZING! It was probably one of the most incredible dinners Jerame & I have ever shared. It has been said to be the best restaurant in Seattle. I think I agree. So needless to say I had a really wonderful day!

Officially Fall!

Seattle defiantly had a wonderfully hot summer. We were even lucky enough to have it last nearly until the end of September which is very unusual for us. It seems like summer lasted a long time but now I think we can officially say it's over by the looks of it outside. In another couple weeks our yard will be covered in leaves, which is really annoying but pretty.
The twins and I have started going to 'school'. We are taking a course through BCC in their Parent Education sector. It is virtually just a fancy named  mommy-baby class. We went yesterday for the first time and it was pretty neat. They got to play with markers, water, sand, play-dough ....pretty much everything I don't let them play with at this point.  We will go once a week for the entire school year. They were the youngest kids in the class. They did great though considering there was only one of me to manage them and they were in a completely new environment with so much stuff going on. We were all exhausted by the time we got home yesterday afternoon that we had a pretty mellow rest of the day!
We had a snack & played outside earlier in the week.
It defiantly looks like fall!  I just can't believe how
grown up these little people are getting. They are
so much fun.
