10 weeks old

I can't believe the babies are 10 weeks old today. It feels so weird to think that they are now into the double digit numbers in weeks. One of my friends stopped by today with her new baby who was 5 pounds 14oz at birth and he seemed so tiny compared to my babies. It's strange to think they were smaller than that at birth. 10 weeks later and I still haven't sent my thank you cards for all the gifts we were given. I think new Moms especially twins Moms should be exempt from sending thank you cards. Don't you?! The days just still seem to fly right by. Its sad but I feels so accomplished if I can fit a load of laundry or make our bed during the day. Its the simple things that make me feel good these day! My next goal is to actually try to put something together for dinner before Jerame gets home from work. I think he might be shocked the day that happens. I figure if I am going to be home now I better start learning how to cook. The babies are better about wanting to go in their swings now so it allows me just a little tiny bit more time during the day to do stuff around the house.
My Grandma took me shopping the other day at Nordstrom. We took the babies, it was their first big shopping trip. They did pretty good! It's so funny people just can't seem to get enough of these babies. Everyone is just so intrigued by the twins factor. I always put a pink blanket on Chloe and a Blue on Carter so people know they are a boy and a girl. Although it's funny lots of people still ask me what I have. I think it must be just a way to strike up the convo...sometimes if I am walking through the mall or something I just avoid eye contact with people because I am sure to be stopped every 10 feet otherwise!
Tomorrow is Halloween and we are dressing the babies up as Dalmatian puppies. Our day is going to be pretty eventful too! I will take the babies into Jerame's office in their costumes because they have a little trick-or-treating event organized at his work. It will be fun to show them off in their cute little costumes. I will take pictures of the in their outfits tomorrow. I'm excited it's almost the weekend again. I LOVE weekends now more than ever. This is mostly because Jerame is home and we get to spend time together with the babies. I just love my family to pieces. It's so fun because all we can really do now on the weekend is hang out together with the babies. All the other chores and stuff that I always stressed out about doing and getting done
on the weekends just don't seem that important at all. I don't really have any recent pictures to post I will take some tomorrow & get some on here.

Happy Birthday Paul

Jerame's Dad came to visit us this weekend to celebrate his 60th Birthday! It was a beautiful fall weekend in Seattle...we saw sun both days. What a treat! We went to a nice Mexican food dinner on Friday night to celebrate the Birthday. There were some Tequila involved for Jerame & his Dad ofcourse. The Babies had their 1st round of shots on Thursday so they were still very sleepy from those so they both just slept the whole dinner. Getting the babies shots was just horrible. Not mention they use a huge needle and they get a shot in both of their thighs, it just makes them feel miserable. Poor little stinkers...they just didn't quite know what had hit them but they knew they didn't like it at all. We ended up giving both babies Tylenol on Thursday night because they were running little fevers and we could just tell they didn't feel good at all. Today is the first day since their shots that they are acting normal again. Chloe literally slept all day yesterday, we could barely wake her up to eat. They will get their next round of shots at their 4 month check up, we are not looking forward to those already.
Carter is now a full pound heavier than Chloe. She is not gaining weight as fast as him so we will take her back in a few weeks to the pediatrician to check her weight again. She is just a little peanut. Carter weighs 9lbs 15oz and Chloe 8lbs 15oz. Both babies are healthy which is the most important thing! Sometimes I feel like they are getting so big but really they are still so little...a little bigger than some babies are when they are born. I can't beleive this week is the last week in October the weeks are just flying by and the holidays are right around the corner.
Don't you just love how they always make you wear
something ridiculous when they sing to you on your bday
at resturants

2 months old

The babies are 2 months old tomorrow! They are getting so big I can't beleive it. I just packed up a box of all their newborn clothes last night. They are officially into the 0-3 months size now which I am excited about because they have such cute clothes! One of my favorite parts of each day is getting them dressed and picking out what they will wear. More often than not I end up having to change their clothes a few times during the day because they puke, pee or poop on what they are wearing. So the more clothes I have the better. The laundry I do around here is just never ending! Jerame actually asked me if I wanted a new washer and dryer for my b-day as a joke and I actually think that would have been the best gift ever. The babies are continuing to get better and better about sleep. Last night they slept from about 11:30 to 4:30am which was ground breaking. Both Jerame and I actually felt like we got sleep! I woke up in a panic actually before they even woke up because I didn't know if they were ok or not. Sure enough they were just sound asleep. I really hope it continues but I won't keep my fingers crossed just yet. Both babies are smiling all the time now. It just melts our hearts every time they flash us those big smiles with their little dimples. They are changing everyday and are seeming less like fragile infants. I am already looking back at pictures going, "I can't believe how small they were". I wonder how I will feel in just another couple of months! I have been getting out more and more. Last week I met some friends for lunch at Bellevue Square. The babies did so good...Chloe actually slept the whole lunch. I am getting more brave about taking them places by myself. Soon it will just be 2nd nature I am sure. We don't have much planned this week but somehow I'm sure it will just fly right by.
we set the babies together to take pictures of them
in these outfits. They immediately snuggled up
together and fell asleep. They like to be near
each other, so precious.

I tied a bow in Chloe's hair for the first time yesterday.
There will be many more of those to come. I can't
wait to be able to do her hair all cute.

We took the babies to Jerame's sister's house to visit
their cousin Skyler who is 8 months old. They are going
to have so much together when they get older.

Carter & Chloe 4 week old pictures

We got the pictures back from our photographer yesterday. Words just cannot express how happy we are with how they turned out! Every single picture is absolutely precious. These two babies are just too perfect for words. I can't believe they are ours. Here is a few of our favorites. I will upload more of them later.

My little Clone

It is really amazing how much Chloe looks like me when I was a baby. She is literally my clone. This is a picture of me when I was just a few weeks old. I think this picture could defiantly be mistaken for Chloe. I have a mini-me!

more nursery pics

The nursery is finally complete. I order stickers to put on the walls of their names it turned out really cute. It actually looks like the letters are painted on the walls. Also my Moms cousin who is a professional artist painted us a water color painting for the wall. She coordinated the pattern of the crib fabric and all the colors. She named the peice of art 'Twins' ...it is very special. She painted a water color painting that my Mom still has hung in her house that was in my nursery as a baby.

Happy Birthday to Me!

It was my Birthday last Tuesday and it was by far my best birthday yet. Jerame was scheduled to go to Europe last week for work and at the last minute decided to cancel his trip. He just felt like it was going to be too much to leave our 6 week old twins and the fact that he would be missing my B-day was also a factor. It was so nice to have him home instead of gone! Jer took the day off from work on Tuesday and we had a lazy morning together with our little family. We then got ourselves all packed up and were off to the Beach House over on Hood Canal. The house is my Grandparents and has been in our family for almost 17 years. I pretty much grew up going over there and have so many fond memories of our time spent there. It was so neat to now bring my own children there. I hope they someday are able to have as special memories as I have from there. My Mom came over to meet us at the Beach House that evening and we made dinner, had cheesecake and all shared a fantastic bottle of wine. It was perfect. Jerame went home on Wednesday because he needed to work the rest of the week and my Mom & I stayed with the babies at the Beach House. We had such a nice time relaxing with the babies. It is so great being over there because there really is not a lot to do other than just lay around. It was so wonderful to be out of my house, with all the bed rest and birth of the babies I literally have been couped up inside my house since May. A change of scenery was welcomed and made me feel almost like a normal person again :-)
Last night my Mom & Jerry came over to take care of the babies while Jerame & I had a night out. We went out to Mexican and then to a movie. It was nice to have some time with just the two of us. I literally felt like we were on a date...it made me appreciate my time with him so much more than I ever have before. Last night was a pretty good night with the babies too. We put them both to bed in their own cribs at about 11:30. They both fell asleep and stayed asleep until about 3:00 am when they woke up to eat. This is how I know we are both still sleep deprived because I am getting excited about being able to sleep for 3 hours in a row! So Jerame & I actually went to bed at the same time and got to sleep for a few consecutive hours together. Normally when we don't have any help at night one of us will sleep in our guest bedroom and be on night watch. We divide up the night into 'shifts' 1st & 2nd...this is so at least one of us is getting a little bit of shut-eye at a time. So basically Jerame & I have just been roommates since the babies were born. Whoever is sleeping in the guest bedroom also normally has Chloe. We have had to have her either sleep in her car seat or bouncy chair. She was not liking sleeping flat on her back in her crib but after last night I am beginning to think maybe we have turned a corner. I hope so! Sleep seriously makes all the difference in the world.

Nana with Chloe on a walk

We showed Chloe where her thumb was and she
started sucking it. So cute!

The beach is full of sand dollars
This picture makes me laugh. I look pregnant. We
went on a long walk on the beach and by the end of the
walk my back was hurting so bad. Carter is getting to be a little
tank he weighs 9lbs 4oz now. It still blows my mind that I had both
of these little babies inside my body only just 7 weeks ago! I still
can't fit into my normal clothes but that will happen soon enough.
Relaxing with the babies...this is by far the best feeling in
the world.

The sun came out for a little bit so we
sat on the deck for a little while after our walk on the beach.

good news

Remember that cyst they found on my ovary when I was 37 weeks pregnant. Well, yesterday I had a Dr. appointment and ultrasound to check on them. Originally the plan was to take out the cyst when the Dr. opened me up during the c-section. However, once she got in there and saw my ovaries she realized both sides were covered in them. It wasn't just one that she could easily take out so the only way to remove them would have been to remove my ovaries all together. We all opted to not do that thank goodness and just to wait it out and see what they did. She guaranteed me that they were not cancer and that they were just fluid filled so it would be ok to wait 6 weeks to see how the pregnancy hormones leaving my body would affect them. So the good news is the ultrasound showed NO cysts. Pretty amazing! I have been a bit sick about the the thought of potentially having to go through another surgery if indeed they did not go away. It was great news and once less thing I have to stress myself out about.

I can't believe the twins are already 6 weeks old. Chloe defiantly smiled at me yesterday and they are both starting to coo and make little noises. They are just SO CUTE!

Weekend with Family

Jerame's family from Denver was here last weekend. We had such good visit with them. We got the twins out all weekend and did several meals at restaurants! It was our first experience with all that so I was a little stressed about how it was all going to go but they were just little troopers. They really only seemed to cry and get fussy when they were hungry and all the other time they spent sleeping. It was nice to have so many arms around to hold babies. It was a perfect weekend to have company because the weather was amazing. I wish our weather could be like that all the time. Now the honeymoon is over and we will be seeing rain for the next 6 months...how depressing!
The babies didn't sleep much last night so we are exhausted today. They are both sleeping right now though so I am sneaking a few minutes to myself. My job is 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Whoever said being a Mom is easy has never had kids or twins for that matter. The babies have both developed a 'witching' hour between 7 to 9pm they are absolute terrors during this time. Both of them cry and cry. It seems to be around the time Jerame gets home from work. By that time I am normally just so burnt out on everything that he gets to come home to a house full of fun :-) Everyone says it's going to get better and better...I am so glad!
