35 Weeks

Our appointment went great today! The babies are growing very nicely and are considered medium sized if they were just a single baby pregnancy. The Dr. was very pleased with how big they are! The girl weighs about 5 lbs 11oz and the boy weighs 5lbs 7oz....I can't believe I have 11lbs of baby in my body. The Dr. said they are looking very happy and content in their little home. I also had a non-stress test which both babies passed with flying colors. This was our last ultrasound so the next time the babies are measured it will be on the scale in the delivery room!!! So exciting. The Dr. told us I could go into labor as soon as tonight or we could still be a few weeks away it's just hard to say at this point. We are feeling so much better about things now and feel so very blessed to have made it this far. It's been such a roller coaster ride...but God had a plan.

For now we finally feel like we can sit back and enjoy this last little bit of the pregnancy. It is such a treat for both of us to sit together and watch my stomach move and roll with each movement. What a miracle new life is.

Never thought it would be me....

Okay so today I realized I have a total case of the 'pregnancy brain'. Jerame has been telling me lately that sometimes he feels like I am in my own little la la land making me plain out forgetful & slow at times! Ha ha ha. I have read about this condition, pregnancy brain, in my What to Expect When Expecting book and thought to myself I don't think that will happen to me. Well today I realized that indeed I have it in full force! I have been counting down the days until today because I thought today was going to be my last 2 hour ultrasound and we would get to find out the babies estimated weight and we would meet with the specialist for the last time. Jerame was there to meet me at the Dr. at 1:00pm...the time of my apt. Well when I went to check in the receptionist was having a difficult time finding my chart. So I reached into my purse to pull out my apt. card and realized that it said in clear black ink...your next apt is on 7/31. SHOOT. I know it's an honest mistake but really I felt pretty silly.
Being off of bed rest has been really nice. Although I am really tierd and finding it extremely hard to really do anything that I want to do. So I have actually still been doing quite a bit of lounging around and sleeping. The muscles in my abdomen are all so sore it feels like I did 100 sit-ups but really it's just from the ligaments & mucles stretching to help support the belly. Ouch!

This pretty much sums up the joys of pregnancy :-)

We made it!

We have passed the biggest milestone for a twins pregnancy. Things are looking great! I get to join the living world today! Yipee. Well we sort of cheated & went out to dinner last night. It was so nice to get out and do something normal. Although I didn't even make it two steps into the resturant without the waitress making a comment about how big my belly is! Then after dinner we stopped off for some ice cream and ate it outside...what a treat! My Dr. has now placed me on "sit-rest" I can go out and do things but I have to at least be sitting down while I'm out & about. So no big shopping trips for me but I can go to dinner and go & visit friends. I will stay on the medication until next Tuesday and then we will just let nature take it's course. Jerame & I both are thinking the babies will make their debut the 1st week in Aug. We will just have to wait & see
though. We are so excited to meet them.

Can you beleive this tummy?!!!!

still cooking the beans

We have almost made it to 34 weeks! We are in a much better spot now than we were 4 weeks ago. Not a lot new to report....which is great. Once again the Dr. didn't find any changes in things at our apt last week. Although bed rest feels like it's been the most unproductive thing I have ever done in my life it is turning out to be one of the most rewarding because I kept them in against the odds! I will have a quick apt today with my OB, I don't think we will know much else today. I have an ultrasound scheduled for next week (if we make it that far) and they will do extensive measurments on both babies and we will get to find out their estimated weight. I think they are still growing quite nicely in there because my tummy just seems to keep ballooning out and out. I think I am going to be able to get off of bedrest this Friday. I have all of these plans of things I would like to try to get done this weekend but I imagine I will be too tierd to do much of anything from all the laying around for the past month. Although, the first thing I am going to do is go & get a pedicure! For now I guess thats about it...I will keep you posted!

33 Weeks

Another week down! I have a Dr. appointment tomorrow and will find out if there have been any changes since last week. The size of my belly is just getting ridiculous, I am SO SO SO uncomfortable. I am feeling the babies move a lot these days, I can actually feel what seems to be feet, shoulders, knees, hands etc. It's so wild! We have had so much help over the past few weeks from family and it has made a pretty daunting situation seem much less stressful. We just
appreciate the help so much.

32 weeks

Yeah we made it to 32 weeks! I had a Dr. apt today and he told us that from here on out we are just gaining bonus time for a twins pregnancy. The appointment went great. I have had no changes in things since I went on bedrest two weeks ago. I had another non stress test done today and both babies passed. Both babies are still head down and we have started talking a little bit about delivery options. I am feeling a lot less scared and stressed these days now that we have made it to 32 weeks. Other than that there is not a lot new to report, my life pretty much consists of going from the bed in the morning to the couch during the days and then back to the bed at night. It is kind of a mental game trying to keep my mind occupied.
The nursery is almost complete. My Mom has been our savior in getting everything ready for us. She has pretty much set up the entire nursery and is plainly helping keep our lives from going into complete kaos while I have been on bed rest. She has been amazing... we appreciate her so much.

Distant Memory

I am bored today and was just looking through our Kodak photo albums online and came across this picture from last summer in Hawaii. I just wanted to reminisce a little about how flat my tummy actually once was!! Oh the days when I could actually see my toes.

31 weeks

Our Dr's appointment went as good as we could have hoped for! There have been no changes in things since last week and it seems as if my body has stopped moving towards delivery for now. The Dr. thinks it's a combination of the medication & bedrest thats doing the trick. He told me not to change a thing. They estimated both babies to weigh about 3 pounds 11oz each. Close to 4 pounds!!! They are still little but are right on track for weight! I can't beleive I have close to 8 pound of baby in me...it's no wonder my body thinks it should be done by now! They both passed the non-stress test as well. They look so cramped in the ultrasound...it must be getting cozy in there by now! They told us that if we can make it to 34 weeks than he will stop the medication and take me off of bedrest. Then we would just let nature take it's course. 34weeks would put us in the week of July 21st. It would be so wonderful if we could make it until then. Both babies are still head down. There still has not been any decsions made about whether or not I will need to have a C-section or not. I think this will be decided as we get closer. I have been having weird dreams about giving birth lately. I told Jerame last night that I have been feeling a little scared lately about actually having the babies and he looked at me with wide eyes and said "I would be scared too"!!! I thought that was funny and had to share.
