Finally our summer is here and I am stuck inside on the couch! How perfect :-) This is day 6 of bedrest (not that I am counting) and time is going slow. I was able to stay somewhat cool this weekend with the help of fans and drinking ice water. All the girls came over to my house on Saturday for the shower. I just posted up on the couch and everyone just brought stuff to me. I just can't tell you how nice it was to see friends and visit. It really meant a lot that everyone went so out of their way to make it special for me under the circumstances and it just made me feel so very blessed. Jerame & I were talking last night about how we both have never felt more thankful in our lives that we live in a place surrounded by family and dear friends. It's times like these it seems that the people that love you come running to your rescue.
We have a Dr's appointment tomorrow. This will be my first & only outing out of our house in a week! We will have an ultrasound and they will do the extensive measuring on the babies so we will get to find out their estimated weight. We are hoping they have made some good progess! At this point since I am so at risk for pre-term delivery their weight is very important. You better beleive I have been sucking back the protien shakes!! I will also have a non-stress test done on the babies. This is a test they do to make sure that the babies are not under any kind of stress & that they are doing good & active. The appointment should last close to 3 hours. I am so looking forward to getting out of the house!

Shower
My Aunts threw me a shower for my family & friends of the family last Sunday. It was nice to be able to get to do that before I have had to go on full bed rest. In hindsight it was probobly too much for me to try & do but oh well it was so much fun. The shower was beautiful & so thoughtful of my Aunts. We got lots and lots of stuff. Jerame picked me up from the shower and loaded up our car with all the new loot. When we got home it was like Christmas he was going through & looking at everything. It was so cute, I think he was just as excited as I was about everything. This weekend my girlfriends had planned to have a shower for me but given my current situation they have now just decided to bring the party to me. Everyone is still going to come over for a visit which I am really looking forward too. I think it will be good for me to have some social time. I am so thankful to have such wonderful girlfriends. Bed rest has been a little hard on me so far, I think it will just take some time to get used to but it's all very isolating. I feel like it was another lifetime ago that I was a part of the functioning world. I just realized that I am coming up on a month of being on house arrest. I have to keep reminding myself that everyday these babies stay inside is a blessing. Each day they can grow in my tummy equals 2 to 3 days less they will have to stay at the hospital growing.
We think our cribs should arrive next week. Once we get those set up we can start doing all the finishing touches on the nursery. It is going to make me feel so much better once we can get that all done. It's turning out so cute I'm really excited about it.

Bedrest 30wks
I had a Dr. appointment & ultrasound yesterday. Things are still going very quickly. I have been placed on strict bedrest now. I can get up for a total of 5 minutes in any two hour time period for bathroom breaks. I am now 100% dependent on others to help me do pretty much everything. It is really hard for me to accept help from people so this is going to be a real adjustment for me considering I am not even allowed to get up to get myself a glass of water. My Dr. hopes that we can at least prolong delivery another 2 to 4 weeks. They gave me the steroid shots for the babies lung development yesterday & I got the 2nd dose today. The steroid will speed up the lung development because they will almost certainly be born before their lungs would natrually be working strongly. I guess it is very effective so I'm glad they gave it to me. It is all very scary but again I am reassured by the fact that I am not on hospital bedrest. I get really sad thinking about the fact that our babies will now most definently need to live in the hospital for a while after they are born. I know I just need to take it one day at a time & trust in God that he will take care of them but it's just so hard not to get overwhelmed with worry. I think this is the Mom in me already wanting to protect my precious little babies. I have been doing a good job though at following the Dr.'s orders however, this day has just seemed to drag on & on. It is just so hard to lay there all day knowing that I am perfectly capable of doing things for myself or around the house. Jerame has been a wonderful support & everyday I think God that he is my husband. We truely are in this together. I'm sorry I haven't been the best at returning calls & text messages today I haven't really felt much like talking. I think tomorrow will be better.

29 weeks- update
I went to the Dr. on Tuesday and found out that my body is still quickly moving towards having these babies way too early. The Dr. told me that if I stay on the same track I am currently on that I will be having these babies in three weeks time (32wks). This would be far too early. I have been put on some medication to help slow things down so hopefully it works for me. The medication has some nasty side effects and has made me feel pretty terrible. All of the side effects are supposed to go away once my body adjusts. Yuck. I still have not been put on complete bedrest but have been instructed to take it super easy & be reclined for even more time during the day. I have been feeling pretty stressed out and worried the past few days. The good thing is, is that I am being monitored really closely and if they were really concerned I would have been admitted to the hospital. I am sort of preparing myself for that because I wouldn't be too suprised if I do end up spending some time there. The babies are both doing good. They checked their fluid levels & heartbeats at the last appointment and both look good. The girl is very low and in complete position to make her big debut. I think the weight of her brother is pushing her down there. Both babies are still head down. Hopefully we can make it until the end of July without having the babies.

28 weeks and counting!!!

Amazingly my body is finding ways to keep growing & stretching for these babies :-) I just hope it remembers how to shrink back to it's regular size!!! You can see my evening protien drink in the background...mmm mmmm good. I don't think I will ever drink another protien shake again after I am done being pregnant.

Registry
People have been asking me where we are registered so I thought I would post it on here to make it easy. We are registered at Babies R Us and also for a few things at Target as well.

27 Weeks
I feel like I am 27 weeks going on 40. I am getting very uncomfortable! I know I seem to say this in evey post but it's amazing... just when I think I am the most uncomfortable I have been yet....my body proves me wrong!!! I am getting a little bit of cabin fever and actually found that I missed going into the office last week. It's so weird to think that I'm not going to be back there for a while. The days go by fairly quickly; I am just trying to relax as much as I possibly can. It would be so great if I could avoid full bed rest. Keep your fingers crossed for me. We ended up at the hospital again this weekend. I won't go into to the details but I was having some funky stuff going on and called the on-call Dr. and of course once I said the word 'twins' they told me to come in immediately. Needless to say it was a scary hour or so but after some tests they found that everything is just fine with the 3 of us. When we got to the hospital this time they had me sign several medical release forms just incase I needed to be admitted (this was the first time we had to do that). I had to sign 3 sets of paperwork (all the same)... one for me & one for each of the babies. That was so strange and made the fact that we are bringing two babies into the world very real! I saw Jerame getting a little sweaty as the reality of it all was setting in. Needless to say we are SO thankful that everything was ok. So yesterday I spent the rest of the day lying down. For now I am getting all caught up on every imaginable TV show.
The nursery is coming right along. My mom is painting this week and the cribs should be here by the end of June. I just can't wait to get the room organized.

The Boy at our last ultrasound. The picture gets blury once they
freeze the image. This picture doesn't do the 3D ultrasound justice
it is just so amazing to see in real life. All the stuff around his face is the placenta.

Dr. Apt & Ultrasound
We had another Dr. appointment & ultrasound this morning. As I suspected I would, I got put on reduced activitiy from here on out. This means that I will not be traveling into work anymore but am allowed to work from home. My work is being so wonderful & understanding which I am thankful for. They are setting me up with a lap top so I can work from home. I am glad I will be working from, it will be at least be some sort of distraction. The Dr. made it very clear that I am not on bedrest yet so I can still get up and move around throughout the day. I just have to take it very easy and spend most of the day in a reclined postion. I am not completely thrilled about my new arrangment but know that my body is giving me signals that it's time to stop trying to do so much. I just need to try and take it one day at a time and not stress about all the what-if's. I am just going to do the best I can and know that I am doing everything in my power to keep them cooking for as long as possible. I am so happy I will have Bella to keep me company during the days. I hope I will have lots of visitors, so come by anytime...PLEASE!
The ultrasound went good. Both babies are still head-down and very active. They were kicking and hitting eachother the entire time. They looks so cramped in there, it's hard to see where one baby ends & the other begins. I am feeling there movements a lot now, it is such an amazing feeling. They are still very close in size, both weighing in at aprox 2.3lbs. The Dr. called them small to medium size babies....which is what they would expect from someone my size. I feel huge but in the twins pregnancy world I am still on the small side. It is getting super uncomfortable for me to sleep at night, I basically just don't sleep at all during the night. I guess this is ok for now because I can catch up during the days. I also think my body is conditioning me for less sleep, I image once these babies do get here I won't be getting any sleep day or night. I think we have decided on names... Carter Jay & Chloe Kate. Thank you for all your thoughts, prayers, calls & emails. It means so much to know we have such an amazing support system around us. I hope I won't have anything more to report for a while other than what is my new favorite day-time TV show :-) I will post pics from the ultrasound later. Once again Chloe was hiding her face so we only got pic's of Carter. She is our mystery baby ha!
