The twins had a blast planting flowers with Jerame this weekend. Carter still hasn't gotten through his dirt eating thing. You can't get this guy to even take a bite of ice cream but he will shovel dirt into his mouth no big deal. So he tasted a fair share of the potting soil. Their favorite part about planting was watering afterward. Both kids were soaked. Yesterday was such a gorgeous day. But today we are back to the rain, it gets so old. We had an open house at our house yesterday so we got coffee and drove around while the kids napped in the car and looked at houses. Of course we ended up in an area that is WAY above our price range and fell in love with the area, figures right? It was fun to dream at least. We found a cute little hidden park towards the end of our drive and let the kids out to run and throw rocks in the water. It was a relaxing way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon.
Although The rest of our weekend wasn't quite as relaxing. Chloe came down with one of her asthma attacks on Friday and we spent the most part of the morning at the Dr. By bedtime we noticed she was really laboring to breath again so Jerame took her to urgent care at 9:30 pm. The Dr. there was very concerned about how hard she was working to breath and was tempted to call an ambulance to have her transported to Childrens but after a breathing treatment they were able to get her O2 levels up into the safe zone. Jer then drove her down to Childrens and they were there until about 2am. The drugs they give her during these episodes make her very agitated and just about everything sets her off. They speed her system up and she gets extremely exhausted but has a really hard time relaxing. Not a good combo for a two year old. She was running a fever and that combined with breathing issues can be dangerous. Needless to say it's all very scary. The hardest part for Jerame and I through all this is that it's hard for us to determine when her breathing is getting dangerous. I felt like a terrible parent when I realized that she was so very sick when everything went down on Friday night. I felt like we should have helped her and had her seen earlier than we did. The problem is that she could be ok but things can get very bad very fast. The good news is our girl is doing better today and only ended up back at the Ped one additional time this weekend. She is still very agitated today and exhausted. Just the littlest thing is the end of the world. Lots and lots of patience with this sweet little girl today.
I am 16 weeks today and this pregnancy is going fast. My tummy is starting to poke out just a little bit.

related much?
Do these guys look a like or what? Carter got his first big boy hair cut last week. He looks so different and grown up. We kept his hair long because of his little curls he had but as he has gotten older the curls have slowly gone away. Which has left his long hair with a - I just got out of bed look - at all times. Sad but true.
Therefore we decided it was time to give him a the big boy look.

2nd time around
So far this pregnancy has been by far a lot easier than my pregnancy was with the twins. Which I am feeling really lucky about because I have had two toddlers to take care of everyday. My nausea was fairly mild during the beginning and only had a handful of really tough evenings (for me the 'morning sickness' is always at night). I haven't been the most exciting mom, wife or friend over the past few months though. We have been hanging at home a lot, if the weather ever gets decent I think I will have more motivation to venture out with them. But until then it's homeward bound. I am not really showing yet but have felt the fat feeling a lot earlier than I did with the twins. Everyone keeps telling me it's because everything is already stretched out. I don't think I am ready to be big & pregnant again. It took me a long time to recover mentally after getting sooooooo huge with the twins...but...ready or not here it comes again :). On the other hand I know I won't be nearly as huge with just one baby as I was with two. I
have been really into Subway, cottage cheese, anything citrus, cheese
and donuts. With the exception of donuts I haven't really been
craving anything to fatty which is good. I have been pretty exhausted by the end of most days but I got tiered even when I wasn't pregnant. Taking care of 2, two year olds can be exhausting. Thank goodness for kids movies. Carter laid with me last weekend and watched the entire movie, Bolt. I slept off and on while he just laid there all warm and snuggled up. It was heaven.

1st haircut for Chloe
Big girl had her 1st real hair cut. We didn't cut much off but after 2 1/2 years she really needed it.
She was so excited and sat as still as possible for a 2 year old.
Carter was in love with the train table they had at the salon

Surprise!!
Yup it's true, we are having baby number 3! Jerame & I got the surprise of our lives on Valentines day when we found out that I was pregnant. When I say surprise I mean HUGE. I guess there was another plan in store for us than we had because I am part of the 1% that birth control failed for during that particular month. Hard to believe I know....we were in shock for a long time after we found out. But now that the idea has had time to set in and we have had the opportunity to see the baby at our 12wk ultrasound on Friday we are all officially really excited. The twins will be 3 when the baby is born so that gives me hope that I will be able to handle all 3 of them? At my ultrasound on Friday I was actually measuring a week farther along than the original due date we were given so right now I have two due dates, 10/11 & 10/17. So we know that the baby will be coming sometime in October. The Dr. had a good guess on what the sex is but I think I will wait to share that until the next ultrasound at 20wks when we will know for sure. More to come!

Snow in April
This weather is beginning to get to me. I know we are on the tail end of the gloomy weather in Seattle but we did have a fair amount of snow at our house last night. Seriously? Last I checked, it is April. I can't deal with snow! I am seriously out of options on things to do with them this morning. TV is so tempting but I know they need to get out and do something fun & active. We'll have to see what I come up with in this beautiful 40 something degree heat! Thankfully we just booked a trip to Hawaii in May and I couldn't be more excited for that. I am nervous about a six hour plane ride with our little ones but I think the agony it may cause will be well worth it once we get there. They are at a much more reasonable age than they were when we did the flight to Mexico (@ 18 months old) so keeping my fingers crossed that it will be a more pleasant experience for everyone. When Jerame & I went to Kauai for our honeymoon we dreamed about the day we would bring our children there to enjoy the magic of that beautiful place. So excited!
The movement on our house has been slow so far. It will happen it's just a matter of when. Thankfully we don't 'have' to move right now....we just want to soon.
