Christmas Eve

I feel so behind on my blogging. I was having some technical difficulties with my blog. I think I have everything figured out now, I hope :-). We had a wonderful Christmas holiday. It was so fun to celebrate what I felt like was our first real Christmas celebration with the twinnies. Last year they were just little infants still, so this year felt more like we could share with them a little bit of the magic of Christmas!!! I was reminded constantly this Christmas how truly blessed & happy I am to have two such beautiful little children. I feel like I have been given a lifetime of Christmas presents in each of them. They are such a joy and make me smile more than they could ever know right now. They are such cool little people. I can't imagine not having twins right now, it makes everything so exciting. Having two 1 1/2 year olds on Christmas morning, what could be better than that????!!!! There has never been a more amazing Christmas for us than the one we just had.
I spent the morning on Christmas Eve with my Grandpa & some of my cousins at the Pike Place Market. It is a tradition for my Grandpa to take us there on Xmas eve every year. I think I started going when I was about 7 & have only missed one year. It always feels so festive at the market, especially on Christmas. We had lunch & did some shopping.
We then headed over to my Mom & Jerry's house for dinner and presents. We had a blast watching all the kids open up their millions of presents. They got lots and lots of new toys this Christmas which is great! We needed new toys to put in the playroom.
When we got home we put the twinnies to bed and then Jerame & I stayed up until about 2am putting toys together, listening to Christmas music and having a few more glasses of wine :-). We had so much fun. I think we were more excited for the morning than the twins were (well...I know we were)!!!
Carter is such a boy & is into trucks, cars and things that make loud noises!

Chloe is obsessed with dolls. Notice she has one in
her arms and we are also unwrapping a new one that she
was equally as excited about :-)
New dolly!

Oh Christmas Tree!

It's feeling a lot like Christmas around our house! We put up and decorated our tree last week. The twins think it is really pretty neat. We got it all decorated while they were taking a nap and when they woke up and saw it they would not stop trying to touch all the ornaments. Carter just kept laughing at the tree and pointing and Chloe was going up to it saying "hi" in her sweet little girl voice. So cute. We are almost done with all the shopping and now it's time to wrap everything. I want to be done with everything by Tuesday so I can enjoy the days leading up to Christmas! My best friend Erica, has been visiting from Florida. It's like having two mommy's around when she is here. She is so helpful, the twins love her and we always have a blast together. We have been friends going on 15 years....so many memories! We will have our first Christmas celebration tonight, with my Moms extended family at my Grandparents house. Should be fun!
Carter LOVES to turn the lights on and off
on the tree. He just sits there and does it over and
over again.
Trying to get to the ornaments...notice
there are none at their level?!!!
Carter got one :-)
They love pretending to talk on the phone
I think she is 'talking' on my make-up compact here.
Erica & I went out for a lovely steak dinner at Daniels
in Bellevue and then went ou for a few drinks afterward. We
had a blast.

Carry on baggage?

Jerame was getting ready to go on a trip last Sunday and Chloe thought the suitcase was the next best thing! She was playing inside so Jerame zipped her up in it & took her for a little ride. She thought she was pretty special.

We have had a bit of a tough go around here the last few days. Our household has been hit with yet another bug. We did our first 3am visit to the ER this week with Chloe. She woke up with a 106 degree temp and was extremely ill early Wednesday morning. It was terrifying. When I read on the thermometer that her body temp was 106 I just about lost it. The thought seriously crossed my mind to call 911 and then I was like, wait, that is silly :-). I am so glad Jerame was back from his trip and that I was not alone because i'm not too sure what I would have done. 911 would have probably gotten a call from me. lol. Jerame took her in to the ER to get checked out and after doing an exam and running some tests on her it was determined she just has something viral. Thankfully. Yesterday was a rough day and we had another long night last night. She is doing better today but defiantly not 100% yet. Now Jerame is also sick. I am just praying I don't get it because we can't afford for the Momma to get sick. Anyway, I'm sure it will pass soon it's just been a bit miserable.

Festive!

I just love this weather....cold & sunny. It reminds me of the weather in Pullman! I love looking out my window and seeing the sun, it just makes everything look good. I am just thankful we don't have snow. I think I will go bonkers if we get the never ending snow storm again this Christmas. At least the twins are much easier to handle now & I would not be stuck at home for days, weeks on end by myself with 4month old twins. It makes me shiver just remembering how exhausting this time last year was. No thank you!!!! This December will be much more fun ;-)

We are in full swing of the holidays and I am finding that I am really excited for Christmas this year. There is just something about having kids & Christmas! I think it is making me relive the excitement I felt for Christmas as a kid. The twins won't fully understand Christmas this year, but they will still have some fun tearing apart packages and eating the paper I'm sure. Jerame & I were joking around and saying that we should take the toys out of the boxes and wrap both the toy & the box. They will probably think they are equally as interesting! The twins are at such a fun age.

Last weekend we felt like doing something festive as a family so we packed up and headed down to Seattle to take in the holiday sights! We walked around for a bit, got coffee, went for a ride on the carousel, and ate some delicious kettle corn. It was really fun.

The twins had their 15 month check-up last week. The Dr. was very pleased with what she saw and even mentioned again that they are both doing a few things that are a little developmentally a head (they are obviously going to be geniuses). Carter is growing nicely and has stayed along the same growth pattern which is good. He weights 21lbs 10oz and is in the 75-90th percentile for height! Chloe on the other hand had dropped a little bit in her weight gain. To our surprise she is still just under 20lbs. at 19lbs 14oz. Her rate of gain has slowed so we have been instructed to add little extras into her food. Like heavy cream & extra butter :-). The Dr. was not especially concerned, just wants us to help her make every bit of food 'count' that she eats. But all in all they are healthy, strong & growing up too fast!

Carter was not too enthused about riding on the Carousel
under no condition was he getting on the horse so, Jerame
held onto him for the ride and he was ok with that. Funny boy.

Chlo on the other hand was a big fan and loved it!
big girl. She was so serious.

This is what happened when we tried to get her off of the horse.
We got some laughs from onlookers. lol.

As torturous as they thought this was...it was hilarious for us. I hope they forgive us :-)

Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a wonderful long weekend! Jerame took the week off, technically, the week before the holiday but he ended up on the phone working 99% of his 'vacation'. I felt bad for him, but he is such a wonderful guy and never complains about things like that. It was nice for him to be at home at least though and spend time with the stinkers between his work stuff.

Jerame's Dad got here on Wednesday. We spent the majority of the weekend eating & drinking, which was so much fun as always. We hosted Thanksgiving this year at our house for my Dad, Brother & Jerame's family. We deep fried two 11lb turkey's and they were yummy! Everyone helped out in bringing all the sides which was so fun to taste the different twists on the traditional dishes.

We visited Santa on Friday. Carter thought Santa was very scary and Chloe just looked like she wanted to punch him in the face. Pics coming soon...

Sunday we relaxed as a family and went to eat a special prime rib dinner at my Mom & Jerry's house. We seriously NEVER stopped eating or drinking the entire weekend! Love it.
