our perfect little valentines

We had such a great Valentines day. It's fun to think back on what we have done every Vday since we have been together. We do it every year and talk about what we did, how we felt & what we gave each other. This year we didn't give each other anything and didn't do anything especially special but we both agreed that, this year was the best yet. It is just such a joy hanging out together as a family. The twins are at such a FUN age. We took them out to breakfast which was actually really enjoyable. We came home and they went down for a nap and Jerame & I cleaned the garage. Yes romantic, I know. But we felt very accomplished when it was finished. Then we went out for an afternoon target shopping session. I heart target. Then we came home & fed the twins dinner and Jerame cooked us a special & delicious meal that we enjoyed in the quiet after they had gone to bed. The very best part about the day though was being with these two little adorable, beautiful, amazing, cool, and hilarious almost 18 month olds!!!!!!!!!

If there is one thing we know for sure about little Chloe is that she LOVES her Daddy. Last night she was following him around the kitchen when he was making dinner. She would just follow him from place to place and sit between his legs every chance she got. Their relationship is really sweet.

Trip to Dana Point, CA

I can't believe it is already Febuary. January went by so quickly and seemed a little hazy between our family being sick and Jerame's crazy travel schedule. It seems like we have been hit hard this year with colds, flu and other random sicknesses. It's been difficult to keep the twins healthy for any long stretch of time. It is frustrating for us and even more miserable for the poor little stinkers. Everyone keeps telling me it is quite normal for toddlers to get sick a lot but I think it just gets magnified with the two of them sick at the same time every time. Last week Jerame was gone on a work trip and the day before he left I came down with a horrible cold/flu. It was the same thing, I think, that Carter & Chloe both had the week before last. It was horrible. After struggling through the first few days with him away, I finally went to the Dr. and was put on meds for a double ear infection & sinus infection. Thankfully, we spent the 1st half of the week at my Mom & Jerry's house so I could have help (and company) whilst being sick. Thank goodness for them. Jer came home Thursday night and was home for 1 day and then we were off to southern CA for Jerame's work 'incentive trip'. Every year the people that meet their objectives on Jerame's team are rewarded with a fun filled weekend somewhere nice. The trip this year seemed extra special to me as everyone was treated to spa appointments, a cocktail party, a day of sailing, and a wonderful dinner at a gorgeous restaurant in Laguna Beach. We stayed at the luxury hotel, The St. Regis in Dana Point. This year there was 35+ people that attended all bringing a spouse or date with them. The weather was for the most part sunny and in the mid 60's. Not that warm but defiantly warmer than here. It was wonderful!

I forgot my camera so here are a few pictures courtesy of Amy Craver-Walton, a local photographer & friend of ours.

Photo opp ...

I took the twins to get their passport photo's taken at Costco the other day for our trip here in just a few short weeks!

It was about as easy as getting them to look at me for a picture
on the way into Costco. Lets just say we caused a little
bit of a scene trying to get these pictues taken. There are
all sorts of 'regulations' on what the picture needs to be like. For example, they have to be looking at the camera & not crying during the photo. Ummmmm ya :-)

The boys go to TX

Last weekend our family was all set to go to Texas for a party to celebrate Jerame's Grandmother's 90th birthday. However on Tuesday Chloe came down with Roseloa, a viral infection, (fever, tummy issues & rash) so we obviously could not bring her on the 4 hour plane ride. So unfortunately I had to stay behind with Chlo while Jer & Carter made the trek to see the family. I was really upset about missing all the fun but it was much better that we stayed home because Chlo ended up running a fever well into the weekend. It was strange just taking care of one baby all weekend. We had fun going shopping, going to the grocery store and just hanging out together. All these things probably seem pretty basic but, it is challenging to do any of these things very easily when I have both babes. Jerame & Carter's trip to Texas was a success and they had a wonderful time spending the long weekend with family. We were very happy to have them home on Sunday. It was the first time the twins have been separated in their lives for more than 5 hours. They were excited to see each other.

meet Nelle

My Dad brought his new puppy over to meet the twins about a week & 1/2 ago. They had just woken up from their nap so they were not to sure what to think of her. She was only 8 weeks old and such a little sweet puppy.

Last week we officially transitioned the twins to one nap a day instead of two shorter naps. They have adjusted really well, they were ready to make the switch. I am not sure if I was as ready though. I miss having that hour in the late afternoon to get dinner started. It is allowing us much larger chunks of time during the day though to get out and do stuff. We started a morning class last week called 'baby boogie' it involves singing songs & dancing. Chloe LOVED it but Carter was not to sure. He was happy just to sit in my lap while Chloe ended up in the middle of the circle doing the boogie by the end of the hour.

Jerame and I have been getting out a lot in the past few weeks as we finally have a few babysitters which has just been wonderful. Jerame's travel schedule really picks up in the next few months and we also have a few trips planned which I am really looking forward too (minus taking the twins on long plane rides).

It's been a while...

It's been a while since I have been able to get them in the same frame, I was proud of myself to capture this since it didn't last very long :-)
The twins are really getting into playing with each other lately. It's so cute, they really do love each other. I am so happy they have one another. They always have someone to play with.
