Jack Johnson concert

The first weekend of the month the twinnies went to stay with my parents & we got two kiddo free nights. We went over to the Gorge and saw the Jack Johnson concert. It was awesome. It was our 3rd time seeing him at the Gorge and he is always just so good. We were also lucky enough to stay at the Cave B Inn the night of the concert along with our friends Jess & Justin. It was so nice because we were able to just walk next door to the concert & walk back over to the hotel when we were done. Jerame and I then stayed an extra night, just the two of us, & did nothing but relax. It was just what the Dr. ordered. It was a beautiful time of year to visit the winery to because all the grapes were still on the vines, they were just getting ready to harvest them.

Carter & Chloe love to Skype with people. We love calling Daddy during his work day to say a quick hello. It is such an awesome invention. Now if we only had more people to Skype with :-)

There is no denying that Chloe is a true girly girl. She loves babies, shoes, lip gloss and thanks to her wonderful Auntie ( that paints her toes rainbow) nail polish. How happy am I to have my very own girl. Future DG. Hopefully she will like shopping when she grows up. As of lately she has been 'dressing' herself coming into our room with random clothes on saying "Momma...look....cute".

On another exciting note. We have moved Chloe into Pull-ups or big girl pants as I have been calling them. She really has decided on her own that she is ready. She was ready before me I think. Diapers are just so convenient...hard to give them up. Once we get through it, it will be so much better I am sure. I really feel like I have no idea what I am doing with the whole thing and have just sort of let her be in charge with it. She did awesome. Today was her first day with the pull-ups and she only wet them once during her nap. All other times she asked to go in the potty. May be too much information but for me it was a GREAT day...one where I felt like such a proud Momma of my big girl. Don't worry I am not getting a head of myself as I know we have a long road a head with PT but we are on the way and figuring it out as we go. Carter on the other hand still has absolutely no interest in it which is okay with me. I think doing one at a time might be easier anyway.
We also had their 2 year old check up today. It went well. Both healthy & growing great.

Stride Bikes

My Dad got the twins Stride Bikes for their bday. They are slowly learning how to use them. They are actually called balance bikes so they learn without going through the training wheels stage. It is a really neat idea. We got one blue & one pink bike and of course Chloe only wants the blue bike.

Chloe is in a stage of 'helping' me a lot around the house lately. She probably stood there and scrubbed that little table and chairs for 20 minutes. When I am unloading the dishwasher, she has to help me. She also has to help me with laundry and throws just about any piece of clothing she sees laying around the floor into the washer or dryer...whichever ever happens to be open. She is so into being my little helper.

Carter will smile on demand for the camera. This picture really made me realize with my own eyes that he has most certainly turned into a little boy. It's sometimes hard to remember they are growing up when I see them every day. I think all Mamma's must have a soft spot in their hearts for their boys because I sure do. This kid is one neat little guy.


They brought out the bubble machine yesterday morning. I don't think bubbles will ever get old for them. I took this picture at 7:30am and Chloe had already decided she was wearing her pink tutu for the day. She is very particular about what she wears these days. Shoes are the most important part of the outfit though and she will only wear these certain white shoes. She calls them "my shoes" even though she has an entire shelf full of shoes however, only those specific ones are hers. So funny. I think the "white" shoes might have to find their way to a new home.

Ok...so I need to do a little venting.....as I type this I am waiting for two pairs of feet to once again come stomping down the hallway for the 100th time since I got them to bed tonight at 7:30pm...it's now 9pm. SO frustrating. We are in a serious stage right now of them getting out of their cribs at naps & bedtime. In fact they didn't even take a nap today because they were to busy playing together in there room. Being a stay at home Mom I have seriously counted on their nap time to save my sanity. It's been my time to clean, read, pay bills or (my favorite) sleep. Up until now they have been wonderful nappers & have gone to bed without much of a fight to speak of. I know we will get it figured out and it's a road that most people have to take when training their toddlers to behave like normal people and sleep in beds. BUT that does not make it any less exhausting or frustrating at this very moment. We have been talking about putting them in separate rooms since they were pretty much infants but they seemed to have gotten to a place that they seemed to really enjoyed each others company and were not disruptive to one another. Now I think they are enjoying each other's company to much when we need them to relax & go to sleep. I think we will at least just be putting one of there cribs in the other bedroom this weekend & see if that helps. Omgosh parenting can be so hard! Although I know this is not the first or the last time I will feel frustrated by those two beautiful, sweet, loving little creatures called Toddlers :-)

I found this list in one of our 'self-help baby/kid sleeping books'. I feel like this list is VERY fitting for the little toddler stage we are in at times with these two little people of ours....
This list makes me laugh more than anything because I can so relate to it.
I made a few moderation's to the list to make it more fitting to us :-)

The TEN Habits of Highly Effective (Little) People:
1. If I am interested in something of yours. It's mine.
2. If I want to go somewhere. I am going.
3. If you try to stop me. I am screaming.
4. If you spend lots of time cooking dinner for me. I will decide I want something else.
5. If my friend (or brother in our case) wants to share my toys, even if I have never shown any interst in them previous. They are mine.
6. If you try to put me in my car seat I will scream.
7. If you try to take a toy away from me at the store. I have every right to fall on the floor and throw a huge tantrum.
8. If I see another child eating a cookie, you will need to get me one. Now.
9. If you tell me it's time to sleep. I will cry and make every attempt at making you cave in to let me stay up.
10. If I want to come in your bed in the middle of the night I will come visit you at your bedside throughout the night until you cave and let me sleep with you.
