On top of one of the old 'pits' that is now full and filled with compacted garbage. They dig these gigantic holes and fill them with millions of tons of trash. It just looks like a big grassy hill that has a beautiful view of Mt. Rainer. Also surprisingly it doesn't smell at all there. They actually trap the gasses that are emitted from the decomposition and through an intricate piping system (you can see some of it in the picture above) they funnel the gas out to make energy....very interesting.

That is so cool! I am impressed it doesn't smell there and that the trash energy is used for good and deer like it. Makes the "dump" kinda okay. Fun for the kiddos!
Fun field trip! Super duper cute how involved your Dad is with the twins and how close they are. Very sweet.
