People have been asking me where we are registered so I thought I would post it on here to make it easy. We are registered at Babies R Us and also for a few things at Target as well.

27 Weeks

I feel like I am 27 weeks going on 40. I am getting very uncomfortable! I know I seem to say this in evey post but it's amazing... just when I think I am the most uncomfortable I have been yet....my body proves me wrong!!! I am getting a little bit of cabin fever and actually found that I missed going into the office last week. It's so weird to think that I'm not going to be back there for a while. The days go by fairly quickly; I am just trying to relax as much as I possibly can. It would be so great if I could avoid full bed rest. Keep your fingers crossed for me. We ended up at the hospital again this weekend. I won't go into to the details but I was having some funky stuff going on and called the on-call Dr. and of course once I said the word 'twins' they told me to come in immediately. Needless to say it was a scary hour or so but after some tests they found that everything is just fine with the 3 of us. When we got to the hospital this time they had me sign several medical release forms just incase I needed to be admitted (this was the first time we had to do that). I had to sign 3 sets of paperwork (all the same)... one for me & one for each of the babies. That was so strange and made the fact that we are bringing two babies into the world very real! I saw Jerame getting a little sweaty as the reality of it all was setting in. Needless to say we are SO thankful that everything was ok. So yesterday I spent the rest of the day lying down. For now I am getting all caught up on every imaginable TV show.
The nursery is coming right along. My mom is painting this week and the cribs should be here by the end of June. I just can't wait to get the room organized.

The Boy at our last ultrasound. The picture gets blury once they
freeze the image. This picture doesn't do the 3D ultrasound justice
it is just so amazing to see in real life. All the stuff around his face is the placenta.

Dr. Apt & Ultrasound

We had another Dr. appointment & ultrasound this morning. As I suspected I would, I got put on reduced activitiy from here on out. This means that I will not be traveling into work anymore but am allowed to work from home. My work is being so wonderful & understanding which I am thankful for. They are setting me up with a lap top so I can work from home. I am glad I will be working from, it will be at least be some sort of distraction. The Dr. made it very clear that I am not on bedrest yet so I can still get up and move around throughout the day. I just have to take it very easy and spend most of the day in a reclined postion. I am not completely thrilled about my new arrangment but know that my body is giving me signals that it's time to stop trying to do so much. I just need to try and take it one day at a time and not stress about all the what-if's. I am just going to do the best I can and know that I am doing everything in my power to keep them cooking for as long as possible. I am so happy I will have Bella to keep me company during the days. I hope I will have lots of visitors, so come by anytime...PLEASE!
The ultrasound went good. Both babies are still head-down and very active. They were kicking and hitting eachother the entire time. They looks so cramped in there, it's hard to see where one baby ends & the other begins. I am feeling there movements a lot now, it is such an amazing feeling. They are still very close in size, both weighing in at aprox 2.3lbs. The Dr. called them small to medium size babies....which is what they would expect from someone my size. I feel huge but in the twins pregnancy world I am still on the small side. It is getting super uncomfortable for me to sleep at night, I basically just don't sleep at all during the night. I guess this is ok for now because I can catch up during the days. I also think my body is conditioning me for less sleep, I image once these babies do get here I won't be getting any sleep day or night. I think we have decided on names... Carter Jay & Chloe Kate. Thank you for all your thoughts, prayers, calls & emails. It means so much to know we have such an amazing support system around us. I hope I won't have anything more to report for a while other than what is my new favorite day-time TV show :-) I will post pics from the ultrasound later. Once again Chloe was hiding her face so we only got pic's of Carter. She is our mystery baby ha!

26 Weeks

It has been sort of a stressful past week or so. Last Wednesday I ended up at the hospital with more of the 'Braxton hicks' contractions. I wasn't feeling well that day and called my Dr. to see if I needed to come in, of course I did. They are actually like fake contractions that are the body’s way of preparing for the real thing. They are normal however; it is very early for me to be having them. They should occur closer to full term but because my belly is already measuring close to full term size for a single baby it thinks it is almost done doing its job. Needless to say this is not good and was slightly alarming. I was basically diagnosed with an "irritated uterus", meaning that the likelihood of me going into pre-term labor (before 37 weeks) is higher than what is ideal. It doesn't appear that anything is moving in the labor direction though so that is reassuring, but again this will be something that gets monitored closely. I had an apt with my OB on Friday and she advised me to start working only 1/2 days this week and next week we will take a look at the situation again to see if there have been any changes. I think I am close to being put on full or partial bed rest. I was sort of expecting this to happen but I was just hoping it wasn't until the end of June. Lying around if you can imagine is already getting a little old. I am so thankful that I don't have any other children to take care of, my only job is just to try and keep these little babies inside for as long as possible.... everything else can wait. If I have to go on bed rest I hope I will have lots of visitors....otherwise I think I will go crazy?!!!! All in all we are doing so well and every minute of this stress will be worth it. As you can see my tummy is getting BIG, I don't realize how much I actually have grown until I compare pictures from week to week. I just can't believe I have TWO babies in there, my skin already feels stretched to the max...but somhow it just keeps stretching!

Yeah it's sunny!

This weather is just so nice, I am loving it! I can't beleive how nice it has been today. It does however make me a little nervous to be so pregnant during the summer months, all I wanted to do this afternoon was find a resturant with air conditioning :-). Jerame went & bought us a new car today! He ended up picking out the Acura MDX, it is SO NICE. It is such a nice car and has the highest safety rating for a small SUV. I will drive that car once the babies arrive it is perfect.

Jerame & my Dad put up the last part of the fence in our front yard along our driveway last weekend, it looks so great. Now we don't have to look at our neighbors horrendous back yard anymore. Our yard looks so beautiful, I just love driving up to my house everyday. I have to blink and remind myself that YES this is my house. We just LOVE being homeowners. It's expensive & a lot of work but so worth it. We would so much rather hang out at our house with Bella than do anything else with our time, it's so fun. We have been busy nesting as Jerame calls it. Cleaning out the room that will be the nursery and getting rid of stuff (mostly my junk because I am a bit of a pack-rat). Our house almost feels close to being organized.
I can't believe we are 1/2 of the way through May, time is just flying by. The babies will be here in no more than 13-14 weeks, sounds like a while but it will be here before we all know it. I have been feeling good! Feeling the babies move more and more. It is so exciting. We had a wonderful Mother's Day & got to spend time with both of our Moms .

23 Weeks

We had another ultrasound last Thursday. We are having one every three weeks at this point, it's nice to see them so often. I just love those appointments however, they do take forever. I have to lay for at least two hours while they do all the measuring on both babies. The appointment went good. The boy is now measuring bigger than the girl. He grew a ton since our last appointment, the Dr. was very pleased. Her growth was not as ground-breaking but the Dr. was not concerned just wants to watch her carefully. She weighs 1lb 3oz and he weighs in at 1lb 5oz, It doesn't seem there is much of a difference between them but when you consider how small they actually still are those ounces count for a lot. Both babies were head down. She is still curled up in the lower left side of my uterus and he seems to be stretchd out on the right side. It would be nice if they both stayed head down, I would really prefer not to have to have a c-section but I will do whatever my Dr. tells me is best of course. I can feel her more often than I feel him but the ultrasound tech told us he is moving around as much if not more than the girl is. It's so wild to see them moving around in their little home. This was the first appointment I could actually feel them moving around as we saw them on the screen. My Dr. told me that I would measure close to 33wks if I was just having one baby. He said that in 4 to 5 weeks time my belly should measure 40wks for a single baby - full term. YIKES! With twins the belly measurment and size should be about 10wks a head of where I actually am in the pregnancy. I am going to be just gigantic by the end. I am already so uncomfortable and it feels like my skin is already stretched to the max. I know it will stretch more but it's hard to imagine being anymore uncomfortable than I aready am!! Jerame is so sweet he tells me daily how beautiful I am and that I am the cutest pregnant lady he has ever seen. It makes me feel so good, I am such a lucky girl to have him by my side through this.

I really have to prioritize my energy these days because it doesn't take much for me to be just get completely tierd out. Jerame always laughs at me becasue I have all of these grand plans & to-do lists for our weekends and I normally can only handle doing one or two out of the 20 things I normally think we should try and get done. All of this hard work will be so worth it though. We just can't wait to meet our precious little babies.

Happy Mothers Day to all the wonderful Mom's!

The Boy at 23 weeks, you can see his little hand
up next to his face....I think he is waving to us!

3D pic of the Boy's face, this picture blows us away!

The Girl at 23 weeks. The tech was unable to get
a 3D pic of her face because she is so cruled up in there!

The Bug

I got my first cold of the year this week. I thought I might be able to escape the cold/flu season without getting sick. It hasn't been too horrible but I have definitely not felt well. Jerame has also been sick poor guy. We have just have had so much going on lately that we were both out for the count, luckily we have been able to rest up and I think both of us are feeling better.. I had another Dr. apt today with my OB, it was quick & easy. She measured my tummy which is big for a singleton baby pregnancy which is obviously because I have TWO. There is no denying the fact that I am prego these days. I have strangers talk to me all the time about when I'm due etc etc, it's sort of strange but I try to be as gracious as I can. I think I will draw the line if strangers try to touch my belly though, I have heard that comes next. HA! My favorite is when I tell people I am having twins…a boy & a girl and then they proceed to ask me if they are identical. YES many people have asked me this.
We got to listen to the heartbeats again today, which are still strong & normal. This is probably one of my favorite parts of being pregnant. It's so awesome to hear their little hearts beating away. It's a very surreal and I am quickly reminded that there are actually two humans growing in my body. It makes me so happy and even more excited to meet them! Even though this pregnancy thus far has not been the easiest on me, I can honestly say I have never been so happy & thankful that I am a woman. It is such an incredible and indescribable experience. I feel like God has truly blessed me with the greatest gift of all and I can honestly say I feel like I am exactly where I am supposed to be in my life. Hope to see you all soon…have a great weekend!
xoxo Katie
