Dr. Appointment
I saw my OB today. Nothing new to report...I am the same as last week. I am actually really disappointed and a bit annoyed right now because I was sure I at least must have made some progress but nope we are still at 1cm. My belly measures 40 1/2 weeks for a singleton pregnancy (so almost a week overdue). Both babies heartbeats are great. I haven't gained any weight in the last two weeks and my Dr. thinks it's possible I might have hit my maximum capacity for weight gain...whew. Those numbers are getting scary. I go for a non-stress test tomorrow. My belly is completely lopsided now with everything seemingly over on the left side of my tummy...it is actually really quite painful.
Nursery
The nursery is almost done we are still waiting on some odds & ends. I am also still trying to figure out what to put on the walls. I am so happy with how everything turned out. The nursery project was a total family group project...thanks to my Mom, Aunt Kathy & Grandma! All of this got done while I was on bed rest.

Nothing Yet
I thought I would post a quick update since we are still waiting for the babies to come! We had a wonderful weekend. Jerame & I finished our final 'nesting ' project and I think both of us feel like our house is ready for the babies. We did some sprucing up with new throw-pillows and decorations in our upstairs bonus room. I am sure that room will be the playroom in no time but for now it's pretty. Its so funny how that instinct kicks in to do all this cleaning and organizing before the babies come. But in all honesty does a newborn really care if the garage is organized?! I don't think so but somehow it makes the parents feel better.
Sunday we spent some time with Jerame's family watching the Blue Angles. It was SO nice to be out of the house and doing something. I am feeling pretty good and don't really feel any different since coming off of bed rest. I have felt like I have more energy lately though which has been so nice. At the end of this week I will be 36 weeks....37 weeks is considered full term for twins. I just can't beleive we have made it this far. I hope the babies come this Friday 8.8.08 what a neat birthday that would be! For now we are just waiting. We will keep everyone posted!

35 Weeks
Our appointment went great today! The babies are growing very nicely and are considered medium sized if they were just a single baby pregnancy. The Dr. was very pleased with how big they are! The girl weighs about 5 lbs 11oz and the boy weighs 5lbs 7oz....I can't believe I have 11lbs of baby in my body. The Dr. said they are looking very happy and content in their little home. I also had a non-stress test which both babies passed with flying colors. This was our last ultrasound so the next time the babies are measured it will be on the scale in the delivery room!!! So exciting. The Dr. told us I could go into labor as soon as tonight or we could still be a few weeks away it's just hard to say at this point. We are feeling so much better about things now and feel so very blessed to have made it this far. It's been such a roller coaster ride...but God had a plan.
For now we finally feel like we can sit back and enjoy this last little bit of the pregnancy. It is such a treat for both of us to sit together and watch my stomach move and roll with each movement. What a miracle new life is.

Never thought it would be me....
Okay so today I realized I have a total case of the 'pregnancy brain'. Jerame has been telling me lately that sometimes he feels like I am in my own little la la land making me plain out forgetful & slow at times! Ha ha ha. I have read about this condition, pregnancy brain, in my What to Expect When Expecting book and thought to myself I don't think that will happen to me. Well today I realized that indeed I have it in full force! I have been counting down the days until today because I thought today was going to be my last 2 hour ultrasound and we would get to find out the babies estimated weight and we would meet with the specialist for the last time. Jerame was there to meet me at the Dr. at 1:00pm...the time of my apt. Well when I went to check in the receptionist was having a difficult time finding my chart. So I reached into my purse to pull out my apt. card and realized that it said in clear black ink...your next apt is on 7/31. SHOOT. I know it's an honest mistake but really I felt pretty silly.
Being off of bed rest has been really nice. Although I am really tierd and finding it extremely hard to really do anything that I want to do. So I have actually still been doing quite a bit of lounging around and sleeping. The muscles in my abdomen are all so sore it feels like I did 100 sit-ups but really it's just from the ligaments & mucles stretching to help support the belly. Ouch!

We made it!
We have passed the biggest milestone for a twins pregnancy. Things are looking great! I get to join the living world today! Yipee. Well we sort of cheated & went out to dinner last night. It was so nice to get out and do something normal. Although I didn't even make it two steps into the resturant without the waitress making a comment about how big my belly is! Then after dinner we stopped off for some ice cream and ate it outside...what a treat! My Dr. has now placed me on "sit-rest" I can go out and do things but I have to at least be sitting down while I'm out & about. So no big shopping trips for me but I can go to dinner and go & visit friends. I will stay on the medication until next Tuesday and then we will just let nature take it's course. Jerame & I both are thinking the babies will make their debut the 1st week in Aug. We will just have to wait & see
though. We are so excited to meet them.

Can you beleive this tummy?!!!!
