Almost 1/2 a year old!

The babies are almost 6 months old. I just can't believe it! They are doing great and becoming more & more like little people everyday. Their personalities remain 100% different and it becomes more apparent all the time that they are unique individuals. It is so hard not to compare them because they are twins but they are just so different and it's impossible to expect them to be doing the same things at the same time. Chloe is all girl and remains our little challenge. She is a very strong willed baby and needs her sleep, food & cuddle time. Sound familiar to all you gals? I think some of her sassyness is genetic :-) She is so soft and sweet though. She is happy just to sit in our lap and soak it all in. She rolled over this morning for the first time Carter is a go'er he is always moving, even in his sleep he moves all over his crib. He has been rolling over for weeks now. I have a feeling once he starts crawling he is going to be hard to catch. He is pretty happy go lucky and is actually turning into a pretty good sleeper now that he can get himself onto his tummy. He is always smiling too which makes our hearts melt. He even smiles at strangers everywhere we go. We are doing far less cry-it-out sessions with the babies as I think they are getting the idea that bedtime means bedtime. We are still working on naps, they are far more challenging. It is still hard for me to get two babies to sleep in the same room at the same time by myself. I am doing the best I can though and I think I'm doing a pretty good job if I don't say so myself! Jerame's traveling has really picked up for the last few months. It's been hard having him gone so much & trying to handle it by myself. Thankfully I have had help from family & friends. It's tough on him to be gone too because he misses the babies. I can't even imagine being away from them 1 night let alone weeks on end. Life is pretty simple for me which is nice I love being a Mommy to our precious little angels.
Always smileing

the airport.
I put the babies on the floor to go & make bottle's
and the picture below is what I came back to 2 minutes
later...

Carter had somehow gotten her shoes off and was
trying to eat Chlo's feet. So funny.

Giving kisses

I LOVE my feet!

It's SO nice just to be able to put the babies
down on the floor with toys and they will play while
I take a shower or fold laundry. I know this stage doesn't
last for long though because soon they will be crawling and I
won't be able to leave them for a minute!

Superbowl

We had some friends over for the Superbowl. It was fun although a lot of the focus was on all the cute babies instead of the game. Such is life these days! I feel like there is a small-baby boom going on around us right now with a lot of our friends having babies. All the kids are going to have so much fun growing up together.

life is rough

My mom watched the babies last night while I went to my Mom's group. She said Carter was busy playing with toys one minute and then she looked back over at him and he had just rolled over and fell asleep. Isn't that so funny? Sometimes when I am tiered I wish I could just roll over and fall asleep. He is FINALLY getting the hang of putting himself to sleep. We have had 3 nights in a row now that he just goes to bed at bedtime without crying. I don't want to jinx myself but I think he is getting the idea. As you can see my house has completely been taken over by baby stuff and I know this is only the start of all the toys!

Cuties

Just some cute pics from this weekend. Often times I feel like I am just playing dress-up with these babies all day long. Mostly because they have so many cute clothes that they need to wear before they grow out of them.
Carter's 1st baseball cap. I don't know if I
have ever met a more smiley baby! He really
is a happy little guy.

Chloe is not too sure what to think of rice cereal

They are almost getting to heavy for
me to hold like this! At least I don't
ever have to work out my arms. Big kiddos.

5 Months Old

The babies turned 5 months old on the 21st. I know I say this often but I really can't believe how big they have gotten. I feel like they have really changed a lot in the last month. It seems like they went from infants to babies between 4 & 5 months. They are wearing some 3-6 size clothes but mostly 6 months. I am having to pack up the stuff they grow out of it seems like every other day! They are doing great and are just the happiest little babies. We are still struggling with the sleep stuff but we will get it. I took some of your advice and we are starting to do the cry-it-out method. It's SO HARD though. The first time we did it I don't know who was crying harder me or Carter. It's just so instinctual to go running when you hear your baby crying. They so have me wrapped around their fingers...toes...whatever! We are doing way more naps in the cribs now than in the swings and are making progress in getting them to stay in their cribs all night long. It's not as easy as it may seem :-).  Jerame was in Dallas this week and I have to say it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be with him gone. We missed him, don't get me wrong, but I felt pretty good about being able to handle it by myself. My Mom, bless her heart, came to stay with me at night. I still think it might be too difficult to try and do the nights alone at this point but we will get there. Carter rolled over and is still obsessed with trying to get his feet in his mouth. Chloe is still trying to roll over and has not quite figured out the awesomeness of her feet yet...I'm sure it's just a matter of time! We tried rice cereal and they were not too sure what to think of it. I think we need to give it another try & see how they do. We are looking forward to the weekend with Daddy home!

This is not the greatest picture in the world
but I have to point out their cowboy boots that
their Papa Paul (Jerame's Dad) gave them.

A Newborns Conversation with God

A friend of mine sent me this email forward and I found it very touching. Enjoy....

A baby asked God, 'They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?' God said, 'Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.' The child further inquired, 'But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.' God said, 'Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy.' Again the child asked, 'And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?' God said, 'Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.' 'And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?' and God replied, 'Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.' 'Who will protect me?' God said, 'Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.''But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.' God said, 'Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.' At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, 'God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name.' And God said, 'You will simply call her, 'Mom.'

A New President

Wow...did anyone else get goosebumps watching the presidential inauguration this morning? There is just something so special about Obama and it is amazing to see how he is bringing the entire country together. I really could not have felt more proud to be an American today. The babies thought it was pretty neat too!
