Not such a bad problem to have...

So I have had this looming project of going through the many pairs of shoes I have had in boxes in my garage since moving into our house in 2007. Considering it is now well into 2010...it is a project that I have obviously been avoiding for a while. When I worked for the shoe company, part of my job was to try on shoes. So needless to say I was given a crazy, ridiculous amount of shoes. Not such a bad problem to have at all. In fact it was pretty amazing. I really loved that job. I think I have possibly only bought 2 or 3 pairs of shoes since I got that job in 03'. I have been hanging onto a lot of the shoes because I always think, well what if I go here I will need those shoes to wear with that outfit. When realistically I don't really have very many places to wear about 80% of the shoes I kept. This could all change one day however, so I will hang on to a few pairs for now :-)
I did good though I am now down to about 4 boxes instead of 9.

I am pretty sure most people have memories from when they were kids of putting olives on their fingers and then eating them. I know I do & I can remember thinking how cool it was. Carter & Chloe think it is pretty neat and it buys be lots of time while I am trying to cook dinner.
They are the cute :-)

A little dirt doesn't hurt...thankfully!

Carter loves dirt. He loves to play with it, eat it, throw it in his hair and pretty much anything else you could imagine to do with it. His favorite toys as of lately are also sticks. He is happy for hours with just a big pile of sticks and dirt. Such a boy. The differences between boys & girls seems more & more apparent as they get further into the toddler stage. The fact that he likes to get dirty does not really bother me at all in fact I kind of like it.

Isn't that what being a little boy is all about anyway?

Newcastle Beach

Today we met up with Jerame's family at Newcastle Beach to have a little Bday celebration for his oldest sister and to also enjoy this beautiful Seattle spring weather. The twins had a blast playing with their cousins and were absolutely exhausted by this evening!
It was a wonderfully perfect Saturday.

As you can see the kids had a lot of fun with the sand/mud puddle. Carter was the ring leader in this situation. He started stomping in the puddle and the girls followed shortly there after. It was only a matter of time until they were all 100% covered in dirty, sandy water. There was a Dad that walked by our kids in the puddle as they were lathering themselves with sand and he just laughed and said, "Now that is living". I loved it. So ture. There really is nothing better than watching your kids do something they are truly enjoying with all their hearts. The squeals, laughter and giggles that were emulating from all of their little bodies were just sopriceless. It is a memory I don't think I will ever forget.

Moments

There are moments sometimes with Carter & Chloe lately that I am just blown away. I find that they remind me out of the blue that they are growing up right before my eyes. Becoming very independent little people. Tonight as I laid them both down into their cribs & told them goodnight I turned around to walk out of their room and in unison they both said "Bye, Bye" and started waving at me. Like see ya later Mom, we love you and know you are here for us if we need you. Then they both snuggled down into their cozy beds. It is moments like this that take-my breath away with joy because I know they feel safe and loved. That is my wish for every single child in this world.

Mothers Day Weekend

This Mothers Day weekend was much better than last year. Last year, our entire family had the stomach flu so this year was much much more enjoyable. We had a really nice weekend spending time together. The weekend was welcomed after a very hard week last week dealing with a devastating loss in our family & then some very sick kiddos. Needless to say some couch/cuddle-time with the twinnies which was just what we all needed. We also got some quality time with our BFF's (the Andrews clan) on Saturday night & had a smorgasbord of delicious BBQ.
Sunday I got spoiled with a yummy breakfast, massage, flowers and best of all a new vacuum. Sounds pretty cliche but I really wanted a new vacuum. Nothing better than clean floors. The best present of all however, was spending time with the two most precious gifts of all. My babies. Every night before bed I thank the Lord for all I have been blessed with, rub my cheeks against the softness of their just washed skin, drink in their sweet smell, give them kisses & tell them I love them with all my heart.




It was fun to play outside in our backyard this weekend since we finally had a few nice days.
