life

Time seems to moving along at the speed of light lately I can hardly keep track of when one week begins and the other ends. Chloe and Carter are now officially 2 1/2  (as of 2/21). They are in the thick of the toddler stage and I still think it's easier having twin toddlers than twin babies but there are most certainly challenges with this stage as well. It seems like once we get through one challenging stage with one child the other starts some other new issue. But I guess what can we expect, they are individuals.  We have finally got Chloe going to bed by herself with almost no issues at bedtime. We have been dealing with some pretty serious sleep issues with her for the past 6 months or so.  So we are feeling pretty great about the fact that we were able to work through it with her (at least for now). It took a lot of patience and a lot of sleeping on the floor in her room BUT here we are on the other side. Like I said before however when we get one thing under control with one...the other one starts something new. So of course the last few nights Carter has been terrible to try to get to bed. His lack of wanting to go to bed is more about wanting to play than being scared so I think we are close to breaking out the sleep books once again! I wish there was a universal manual for how to raise kids. Wouldn't that be nice?
I have been terrible about taking pictures lately, sometimes I feel like what we do isn't that exciting so I don't bring my camera. But I most always find that I wish I had brought it. So I am going to try to be better at that.  We started the twins in swimming lessons twice a week at two separate places. They are loving it.  We really want them to learn how to swim.
We are in the process of getting our house ready to put on the market to sell. I am nervous about trying to keep it clean & show ready with two toddlers. Wish me luck! I am sad to be moving on from this house but we really have grown out of it.

Pop's Work

We took a little field trip a few weekends ago to my Dad's work. We knew the kids would get a kick out of it and I hadn't been there in a long time.  My Dad works for King County,  at the solid waste division.  It is essentially the place where ALL the garbage is taken  for all of King County.  He works within the office that manages the operations. There is hundreds of trucks there and Carter got a huge thrill out of seeing them so up close. Chloe did also but not nearly as much as our boy he is  obsessed with anything that has wheels.

On top of one of the old 'pits'  that is now full and filled with compacted garbage. They dig these gigantic holes and fill them with millions of tons of trash.  It just looks like a big grassy hill that has a beautiful view of Mt. Rainer. Also surprisingly it doesn't smell at all there. They actually trap the gasses that are emitted from the decomposition and through an intricate piping system (you can see some of it in the picture above) they funnel the gas out to make  energy....very interesting.

There are tons of wild deer that essentially live there because there is so much green grass for them to eat.

princess party

Jerame's older sister's daughter Skyler turned 3 on Saturday. It's so hard to believe she is already 3, it really does seem like yesterday that she was born.  When she was born I was nearing the end of my first trimester with the twins and it was impossible for me to even fathom at that point  that  they would now all be BFF'. So special.
Sky's Mommy &  Daddy threw her a party fit for a princess at Lily's nail & hair salon on Queen Ann.  It was darling. All the little girls got their nails & hair done with plenty of glitter and sparkles. Then they were treated to butterfly cupcakes and lemonade. Chloe was doing the .... I don't want to smile because I think this is sooo cool thing almost the entire party. It was such a sweet little party.

Bye-Bye Balloon

It is impossible to explain to a 2 year old why their balloon floated away and why mommy can't reach it to get it back for them. Why? Because mommy's can normally do everything.

I definently said a bad word or two when I accidentally opened the door and the balloon went flying away into the sky. Carter & Chloe were both standing right there and completely lost it. Who would have thought loosing a balloon would be so earth shattering. Well to a 2 year old I guess it is.
I almost felt bad enough to go and get them a new balloon but thankfully we were able to move on faster than I thought possible after such trauma.

Tangled

We took the twins to their first movie theater experience. We saw Tangled. They did so good. Carter sat the entire movie and didn't eat, talk or move he was entranced. He did laugh at the funny parts and got scared when the music got loud... it was precious. Chloe sat for the first hour and then had to go potty about 6 times in the last 45 mins. We were proud that she sat as long as she did as we definitely did not expect her to. Tangled was so cute. We all loved it.  It was so fun to be able to do such a 'grown-up-kid' thing with them. It really felt like such a big step.

Eying the treats. To bad he doesn't like candy.

Pretty sure Chloe was pointing out ALL the things she thought she should have
such big kids...they make my heart melt

Ended our outing with a trip to the theater archade which Cman loved....this of course led to a huge tantrum upon leaving. I figure our outing would not be complete w/out at least one tantrum.
Tantrums & all I love my boy.

On a little side note shortly after we got home & we got the kids of to bed I started to feel really sick. I proceeded to be sick all night long. I mean really sick. Like the sickest I have ever been in my life. Like so sick I didn't care that I was doing things in front of my husband that NEVER should be done in front of anyone.  I will leave it at that. I didn't get out of bed  on Friday. At all. Got out of bed a few times on Saturday and was sort of feeling like I was going to live by Sunday night. Seriously so sick.  My Dr. has concluded through tests that I got food poisoning. Still waiting to hear what kind...the likely suspect is Ecoli.  I know you are all dying to know where I ate..... AND I am so embarrassed to admit that the likely suspect was at the Golden Arches. I have always been such a closet Micky D's lover. I know soooo gross. But I can now promise that it will be decades if EVER that I eat there again. I am finally feeling better tonight and could enjoy that lovely Valentines dinner Jer made for us.
