Home at last

Where to begin...things are crazy! I have been wanting to post an update for a few days now but am just now getting a spare minute to do so. We are very busy adjusting to life with TWO newborn babies. First I must say that we LOVE being parents to our little bundles of joy. Chloe & Carter are doing wonderfully and are just little buggers. Chloe weighed 5lbs 12oz and Carter weighed 5lbs 7oz at birth. Jerame & I both spend hours just starring at them, we are just so in love. I never thought I could feel this way about anything ever but the feeling I have for these little babies is just purely indescribable. The delivery went well and I am healing up nicely. We stayed 3 nights and 4 days in the hospital which was nice because it gave me a little more time to heal before going home. Although I was very nervous about the C-Section it turned out to go fairly quickly and it was so worth it because our babies were here in no time! Being awake for the procedure was the weirdest thing I have ever experienced in my life....I am glad it was quick. I am still in a lot of pain but it seems like it's getting better and better everyday. The first two nights at home were really challenging but we are learning things fast and figuring it out one challenge at a time. We have their first pediatrician appointment today, we are hoping that they have made some progress in weight gain. We need them to grow!

We have a plan!

We met with the Dr. today and I am feeling so much better about everything now. We have a c-section scheduled for this Thursday the 21st at 9:00 am. The mass on my ovary will be removed after the babies are taken out. I will be kept awake for the entire procedure which I am totally freaked out about but she said I will be distracted to say the least with everything else going on. My Dr. seemed very optimistic about the chance of it being anything but benign so that is all very reassuring. She said I should feel a lot of relief in that area after it is taken out because I have actually been in quite a bit of pain. I am so happy that I will be able to see the babies right away after they are born. I was feeling pretty torn-up about the fact that I probably wasn't going to be able to see them until well after they are born. I am so nervous about the c-section but just have to keep reminding myself that everything will be OK and after it's all done we will have our two babies! I haven't wanted to put any pic's up of me lately I have just been feeling so incredibly huge & prego. BUT since we are so close to the end I thought I share how big it has gotten, I feel like it looks like an attachment to my body!

I know I say this in every post but I just can't believe we made it this far thank you God!!!

37 weeks -Full term today

Today marks the day that I have officially made it to full term for a twins pregnancy. I am SO PROUD of my body! It's been such a long road but we are getting so very close. After we got the unexpected news on Tuesday these past few days have been a little rough & emotional for me . I am feeling better now though so that is good. All the support & encouragement from everyone has really helped us see things a little clearer, we appreciate it so much. My Dr. has been on vacation for the past two weeks so we have an appointment scheduled with her on Monday. We will then figure out a plan of action. I am going to feel even better about things then. This is officially our last 'single weekend' as non-parents...what a crazy reality. I want to find an air conditioned hotel with a swimming pool. This heat is brutal.
I had to post these pics of Jerame & our niece Dana from last weekend. What a doll baby she is and doesn't Jerame look like such a natural? He is going to be such a good Daddy.

On a lighter note...

Jerame's Mom & Sister got us this twins pack & play. We will have the babies sleep in this in our room at first. Products for twins are just so cute! TWO of EVERYTHING!!!!

One more bump in the road

What should have been a routine trip to the Dr. today for a non-stress test turned out to be much more than anyone was prepared for. To make a long story short I ended up having an ultrasound after the test was done to check the fluid levels on the babies. The babies are doing great and still happy & content in their home. In doing the ultrasound however the tech happened to glance over my ovaries (which are on my sides now towards my back) and found that I have a cyst/tumor on my ovary...making what should be the size of a golf ball the size of an orange. It really is amazing that she happened to look at them because it's defiantly not a routine part of checking fluid levels. Needless to say finding it was all very surprising to everyone because they last checked them in June and nothing showed up to be concerned about then. The tech practically ran out of the room to get the Dr....all the while I am sitting in the exam room by myself not really knowing what was wrong but knew by her face that whatever it was, it was not good. I talked with the Dr. for about 1/2 hour and he explained to me that it is a concern that this seems to have just popped up quickly. I felt like I was in one of those situations where someone is talking to you and their mouth is moving but no sound is coming out. The cyst needs to be removed as soon as possible and it will then be examined to see if it's anything to be concerned about. Since removing it will require some kind of abdominal surgery he is recommending we go a head with a C-Section. This is so I don't have to go through both a natural delivery and then turn around and have surgery a few weeks post partum. So we don't know much but do know that I will be scheduled for delivery/surgery sometime next week if I don't go into labor before then.
I really just can't explain how many emotions I am feeling at the moment...it's hard to even get my head around it all. Jerame keeps on reminding me that this is just a bump in the road of our lives. He is so supportive and encouraging I just love him so much. I can't help but for some reason let my thoughts wander to all the different scenarios. Please keep us in your prayers.

36 weeks

Another week down...it is so crazy. We are getting close! At our last Dr. appointment she told us that she would induce me on 8/22 if the babies hadn't come by then. Wow...that seems like a long time away. We don't have any major plans for the weekend...life is not to exciting when you are 9 months prego with twins :-) Pray for babies!!!
