Pictures 13 months old

I had the babies pictures taken at Babies R Us on Friday. We are getting professional family pix taken mid-October but wanted to get some of them as close to their 1 year mark as possible. Although Babies R Us photos are a bit on the cheesy side I think these ones turned out really good. Both babies smiled what more could we ask out of them!!! They did so good I was really proud of them.

Teething is no fun

C & C are in full teething mode again poor babes. I was really confused as to what had gotten into them this week because they have both been doing a lot of  whining and I realized that they are both cutting their 1 year molars along with a few other teeth each. Their gums are all red and sore looking. I can't imagine what it must feel like for them . They both got their first teeth around 6 months or so and then we have had a break since then. So here we go again, I guess. Ugh.

We are also in the process of really trying to ween them from using a bottle. Carter is doing well but Chloe is a bottle girl. She shakes her head NO at the sippy cup when we try and give it to her and points to the cabinet we keep the bottles in. Oh dear! I didn't realize quite how attached they were to the bottle until we have started the process of trying to take it away. It has been tough and hard to know if we are doing the right thing sometimes. Our Ped told us that it's really a good idea to be completely done with bottles by 15 months...we are determined to get there it is just going to be a process for us.  There are certain things about raising kids that I wish there were clear cut answers for it's so hard sometimes to know if you are doing the right thing. I guess all you can do is love them through every step of the way.

Lake Chelan

We went on our first family vacation with My Mom & Jerry's family this past weekend to Lake Chelan we had a really good time! We stayed at a lovely house right next to the water with a private sandy beach. The twins had a ball playing in the water and in the sand with their cousin Dana. Carter is still in the sand eating stage though so I hope he figures it out that sand is not for eating by next summer?! They both LOVE the water and have no fear when it comes to it. I can't wait to be able to put them in real swimming lessons. We did some wine tasting, boating, eating, drinking and just had a blast spending time together. The weather was nice but you can defiantly feel fall in the air. We can't wait for the next trip!
This is what most of our family shots look like
these days? They do NOT want to be held!
Chloe was not happy about the life jacket
she had to wear on the boat.

September so far

We have had such a good month so far. I can't believe we are already 1/2 of the way through September. Time is just seeming to fly by. The babies are so much fun these days. We have been getting out to do things in this beautiful fall weather. How lucky have we been with this fantastic weather. I am finally at the point that I can say I am LOVING my job. Being a stay at home Mom is much harder than any job I have ever had but is also the most rewarding (I know cliche) but it's true for me.  I can honestly say that my days are now filled with mostly fun and not nearly as much frustration & exhaustion, as many of the early days were. The first year with twins was pretty crazy but I am starting to feel like all of our hard work is paying off. I feel like a normal person again and we are all getting lots of sleep!!! They are so funny right now and just make me laugh all day long. We are in full football swing and I actually really don't mind having it on all the time at our house. It is nice family time to spend together. Jerame has season tickets to the Seahawks so he is pretty pumped for that & I might be able to swing a few games with him. The leaves are already starting to fall at our house and I have to say I hate all the leaves we get in our yard but I do LOVE fall! This also means my Bday is right around the corner and I am amazed that this is my last 20 something Bday I will have. Crazy. I don't feel that old?!!!
We had a visit from Jer's Dad last weekend which is always fun. We ate a lot, visited, played with babies and best of all drank our beloved tequila together. I have had a few nights out with the girls which has been new & nice. I finally feel like I can go out again like a normal person because I know I will get a goodnight sleep when I get home. Jerame & I had the pleasure to enjoy 'Cougar Football Saturday'  sans babies this last weekend. We had fun tailgating and going to the game (although they were awful & embarrassing!!!).  We were home by 10pm though so that is when we knew we are getting older!!  We have a lot more planned for the month and I am going to soak up every last bit of the sunshine before it leaves us until next year!!!!!
I am finally getting latches installed on my cabinets tomorrow. I am SO excited. We will finally be able to use our drawers again and will not have to deal with finger smashing on a daily basis!

Girls night for Jeanne's bday
Cougar Football Saturday!
We went to Sydney's 1 year Bday yesterday, it was
at a park & so much fun for the babies.

Carter has learned out to crawl up onto the couch
by himself. I think it might take a few tumbles for him
to understand how to get off correctly though?!!
Chloe is still obsessed with Daddy

They love their cars. We go for drives down our driveway.

Fun at the Park

My Mom & I took the twins to the park next to her house last week. We had so much fun. It was the first time that they really thought 'playing at the park' was fun. Up until this point they have only been interested in eating the wood chips at the park. I just can't describe how much fun these little people are right now. I just get excited for each new day and adventure we will have. I am so lucky to be able to stay home with them during the day and do fun things. They just love going down the slide!

1st haircut

Carter got his first haircut this week. It was a bit of a disaster as the lady cut WAY more than I was expecting. I'm not too sure were the miscommunication happened but I thought I was pretty specific about not cutting his curls off in the back. But away they went?!!! Needless to say it ended up a lot shorter than we wanted but it still looks really cute. He looks like a boy now and not so much like a baby. At least hair grows back. He is such a handsome little boy.

12 month stat's

We had Carter & Chloe's 12 month well check up last week. They are doing great and the Dr. was impressed with how developed their motor skills are at this point. Chloe is walking better than the majority of babies are at 13-14 months. I think it's because she is small so it's easier for her to get around. Chloe is still a very petite little thing. She is just now fitting into 12 month clothes. She still fits into a lot of 6-9 & 9 month clothes though :-). They are both small but doing great considering how tiny tiny they were at birth. They each got 3 shots. One in the back of each arm and one in their thigh. It was horrible but fast. I gave them Tylenol before the appointment so I think that helped things a lot. They didn't get grumpy that day but the next day they were extra tiered & had little fevers. The Doc gave us the green light on cows milk so we have stopped formula now and made the switch. We are still using bottles though because the sippy-cups still seem to have 'toy' associated with them so we will ease into that slowly I think, which we are fine with. They are doing pretty good with milk although I think they both would still prefer to drink formula but I'm sure they will get used to it in no time. Meal time is still a mess & takes time but it's becoming more interesting to them. They are getting more excited about food when before they really didn't seem to care unless it was blueberry's or watermelon. They actually seem hungry now and are excited when we put them in their chairs. They love love love to play. It's so fun to watch them all day. It seems like they are in an intense learning stage right now. They are starting to really copy us and I can tell they are just soaking up every little thing around them. I think this is my favorite stage so far because they are starting to be able to communicate and are turning into such little snugglers. Without furter adue here are their 12 month stat's:

CARTER
Weight 20lbs 9oz 10-25%
Height 31 1/3 75-90th %

CHLOE
