this girl

Chloe was baby 'A' when I was pregnant with the twins, meaning she would be the first born. She is a twin, but she is also a first born & lives up to it with almost every quality. I remember as I was laying on the table in the delivery room and they pulled Chloe out & when I saw her sweet little face for the first time and  my very first thought was...'that's me'. She looked like me. She was my daughter.
To this day I feel like I am looking in the mirror when I look at her.
A few things about this little girl at 3:
- she loves loves  loves her Daddy
-she is newly afraid of the dark & requires a nightlight
-still has anxiety around bedtime she runs though a laundry list like clock work every.single.night making sure she has all her blankets, animals, water, chapstick, tissues....you get the point
-is very opinionated about what she wears & will still only wear 'party dresses'
-will never keep her coat on even if it's 30 degrees outside because she is 'hot'
-is sassy, opinionated & competitive (should have seen her at the Easter egg hunt!)
-thoughtful & empathetic beyond her 3 years
-she still struggles with  Asthma every time she even gets the slightest cold but is such a little trooper about taking her inhaler, we still have hope she will grow out of it one day.
-loves to help me with the baby and is always very concerned about him. She is a care taker (when she wants to be)
-school is already a social thing for her and always has lots to say about what happened socially that day (not necessarily what she learned) we could be in for it!
-her favorite toy right now is her Melissa & Doug princess castle with all her Disney princess figurines.
-loves horses...this makes Papa Paul really happy....I wouldn't be surprised if we end up owning a horse someday. she pretends Bella (our dog) is a horse and parades her around dressed up on a leash.

She is growing up so fast & I am so proud of the little girl she is becoming.

kids rooms

Since we will be moving soon...in like 30 days. EEEEKKKKkkkkk?!!! I thought I would put some pics on here of the kiddos rooms. Carter & Chloe have been sharing a room ever since Chase was born & they love it.  I am not positive what we will do when we move because I am sure they will still want to be together. Amazingly they sleep better now together than they did apart. Eventually they will want their own rooms I am sure but until then I will cherish the cuteness of them wanting to be together. If you ask Carter who is best friend is he will normally either say 'my Dad' or Sissy. Chloe almost always says Carter. They have such a sweet bond. Chase's room isn't all that different than when it was the twins nursery. With the twins I didn't have a rocking chair and I seriously don't know how I survived without one, I have spent many hours in that thing with Chase.  I love both of their rooms.

hey good look'in

Chase was infatuated with his reflection in the mirror at the Dr. this morning. I don't blame him...I am pretty much obsessed to.
He wasn't quite as chunky as I expected dropped a little bit in percentiles from the 90th to the 75th. Dr. said this is normal once they start moving more and this kid is on the move. He weighed 18lbs 14.5oz  & is 27in long 75 percentile. We passed on the 6 month shots today as he is miserably sick right now with the cold/flu that the twins have had. We will be back for those later in the week. The Dr. also said that his night waking is still totally normal at this age which was reassuring.

Happy 6 months baby boy

Chase is officially at the magical baby age (in my opinion) I just LOVE the 6th month. He continues to be a very happy, content & sweet baby.
This little boy found his feet & he is officially in love with them. He is rolling all over the place and spinning around on his tummy to get around. I would not be surprised if he is crawling soon. He wants to crawl so bad. He loves to play with toys & is not moving yet it's the perfect time. I can't get enough of him seriously. He is doing a little better with sleep which has been great for everyone. Not great but we will go with better for now. I can't wait until he sleeps through the night every single night. He cut his first tooth on Saturday and doesn't seem to be to terribly bothered by it. He wants to chew on everything.  I am wondering how the whole teeth & nursing thing will work out. He has his 6 month check up tomorrow & I am curious to see how much this chunky baby will weigh he is so deliciously rolly.
In other news we listed our house last week & it sold in 3 days! Although we are thrilled to be able to move onto the next chapter (i.e. bigger house) it is a lot bitter sweet. I could cry just thinking about moving out of here (um hello hormones) ...this has been all of our babies home & the memories that we have made in this house are just so precious. I worry about how they will adjust to being in a new house. One step at a time I guess. And the next step is actually finding our new house. Also really exciting to!

He is eating food at every meal now & loves it. He likes pears & prunes the best. I tried giving  him a baby mum mum this weekend & he gagged on it and puked everywhere. So we will wait a while again before I try that again. Such a big boy.

random snow day

We woke up to a little bit of snow one morning during the 1st week of March. The kids were thrilled, it was fun to go to the bus in the snow although they were both soaking wet by the time the bus got there. It is funny how FUN always trumps being wet & cold with kids.

kiddos

all 3 together in one pic...doesn't happen very often.  Even when they are driving me absolutely crazy I still love them aaaaaalot.
My blog has been a little neglected..there  just isn't enough time to keep it up lately. I hope to be better.

This has been what's been going on with us in a nutshell:
  • Everyone  has been sick off & on for the past 2+ weeks. We got hit with a terrible cold/flu and then the stomach flu. It was the first time we have had the pukes since the twins have been grown up kids. They were a little traumatized...so was I. Jerame just happened to be out of town when it all went down it was lovely. Not really. It is really hard to be sick when you have 3 kids all 3 & under.
  • Carter is wearing big boy underwear all the time during the day now (even at school). This has been a long time coming but I knew he would get here. Don't get me wrong...I am still cleaning piles of s*** out of underwear far to often but the point is we are DONE with pull-ups during the day & this a day I thought I would never see. Now to think I have to look forward to potty training another boy?!!
  • Chase continues to be a terrible sleeper but we are working on it. I just need to buck up and cry it out with him but it's soooo hard at 2am. I am tired.
  • We are getting our house ready to sell yet again. We must move, this house is far to small for 5 people & a dog.
  • Chase has started trying solids, he doesn't really like them all that much he could still really take it or leave it. I ordered a highchair so am looking forward to getting that.
  • He is still the happiest (unless I want him to sleep), chunkiest little dude ever. Broke out some 12 month clothes that Carter wore when he was 1 year old...this kid is only 5 months. Can we say giant?!
  • The twins are at such a fun age they are getting into pretending & will entertain each other with little makebeleive games for hours. I could do without the 3 year old tantrums, which really are brutal and make you feel like you are banging your head against the wall over and over again,  BUT they really are pretty good kiddos.  They are especially sweet with their little brother & yet to express any jealousy towards him.  We just bought the 'love & logic' book with the hopes of getting some new parenting help under our belts. The whole time-out thing just isn't quite as threatening as it once was so we need some more amo. We will get there.
  • Both of the twinnies are growing like weeds and everytime I look at them they seem like little lanky kids to me instead of toddlers. I just registered them for pre-k next year. They both love school it's been the best thing ever for both of them.
  • Jerame & I are planning a kid-free trip for our anniversary in June to Napa. Now we need to figure out who might be brave enough to take on all 3 kiddos for 3 days. Any takers?!!!!
Well thats it for now!

5 months

5 months 3/8/12
How is my sweet little baby boy 5 months old already. He is the size of a 9 month old and I love his chubby arms & legs and how I have to wash between the rolls. He is super super ticklish and giggles everytime I change his clothes. This has to be one of my favorite things about him right now. His smile...well,  it absolutely melts me.  He pretty much is smiling all day everyday.  We are two peas in a pod there is really not normally not much time during the day that I am not holding him and really, I wouldn't have it any other way. I am not sure who is more attached to one another him or me? It is such a different & fun experience taking care of just one little baby. I love it. He is officially a tummy sleeper and turns onto his tummy the minute he hits the crib. He is starting to scoot himself along and does not stay in one place anymore. I am sure he will be army crawling by the end of this month.  At this point he is obviously not really going anywhere to speak of so we are still in the honeymoon period before he is really actually on the move! I am not looking forward to all the baby gates again. I actually don't really like the crawling stage. My floors are just plain way to dirty to have a baby down on the ground again.  Between the twins & dog it is impossible to keep them clean.  Plus I am not sure what we will do with all the twins toys that have small pieces. I am thinking we will just have to put them all away for a while. He continues to love his carseat although he is already on the biggest harness setting so wouldn't be surprised if he is in the big kid carseat before a year. We tried rice cereal and he hated it. In fact he gagged & puked up all the milk he had just drank. I think we will just skip that all together & go straight to baby food in the next could of weeks. I have been shopping around for highchairs again. I hate highchairs because they mean messes and cleaning 100x's a day. We actually tossed the twins chairs when they were done with them because they got so gross! Anyone have one they have loved?  I think he is getting ready to start eating solids because he has seemed hungrier lately if that is possible. He nurses all day long. Sleep is still our biggest challenge. He is now pretty consistently going down at 8 up at midnight, 4 am & then up for the day around 6:30-7. Ya, by no means am I getting a good night sleep yet. But it is better than where we were a month ago. He will sleep someday & I know when he does I will kinda miss our nighttime nursing time.
